Is it worse than in egr's track?

I see why this is happening and will discuss a possible solution with Johan.

I've been putting off updating because I haven't felt like patching another LSDJ rom with all of my samples (all of the banks are full with custom kits). But I guess it's finally time.

If you send me your ROM, I can do this easily.

Quck question here: what's the difference in sound on a GBA (original model) using a link cable adapter for audio rather than using a proper mod?

You're off the mark completely. First off, that's not a link cable adapter, but a power adapter. Secondly, only GBA SP and NDS have this port.

This is for those who don't follow my one Gameboy project per week thread, or the LSDj mailing list. In the development of my latest project, I discovered a way of making sample playback sound cleaner on all Gameboy models, but above all on GBAs. This method has now been implemented in LSDj too. Kit instruments are no longer completely useless on GBA! For this, you need a LSDj 4.7.0 which registered users can get from http://littlesounddj.com/lsd/latest/full_version/ as usual.

Sorrry. I was very tired when writing that, I somehow linked to the old test ROMs used earlier in this thread. Try now.

And here's this week's ROM and the obligatory wall of text

(Fixed the link the post. I used to go to the wrong ROM.)

Johan has released a new version of LSDj (4.7.0) that implements this fix. Give it a try on your GBA and see if it helps.

About that... There should probably be a mode button that let's you cycle through various modes, of which one is to capitalize the first letter in each sentence. Probably a button that says abc. Make it say Abc and you should be good to go.

The reason why this thread exists is because is because female artists are assumed to be underappreciated and/or in a minority. It's also possible that it passed some people by that certain artists are female. I was surprised by some of the names as I've only heard their music but never reflected on which sex they might be. And I think (or at least hope) that people are posting names of artists that they actually enjoy listening to, not just because they're female. Listing all male chip artists would just be listing most artists overall, which is pretty pointless. I shouldn't even have to explain this. Boaconstructor's thread was just reactionary.

i understand what your saying it just doesnt  jive with me that well. would we react the same way to a thread for gay chip artists, or if someone started an african chip artist thread. i guees its alright to be cuirous about those kind of things, but cm made a 6 page long thread listing all these female artists that may or may not want to be associated with being female before just being a dope musician and thats my main qualm with it. and to top it all off the op that was orginally curious has a cm.o history of her four post within this thread and was probably just wanting some attention and got it in what i find a rather cliche way. i made a post before that was mostly sarcastic in nature and when i saw boa's thread i just switched it out with a link to it cause i felt it made the same point.

First off, why do you feel the need to "correct" my nick name? There's a quote link below every post that gives you a quote tag with everything ready to go. And also, your keyboard most likely has a shift key. Use it.

Anyway. I think that's what it is. Curiosity. We as humans like to know something about the people around us. I think what you're saying about a tghread listing gay artists is the same thing as "that may or may not want to be associated with being female..." That is, stigma and prejudice. That's why people stay in proverbial closets. The gay closet, but on the internet often also the girl closet. People are afraid that other people will look down on them for being [attribute x]. In a world without the need for closets, this wouldn't be a concern.
I don't know which way a list like this affects things, but as long as it's genuine curiosity and in a positive spirit, I don't necessarily see the problem.

I'd like to have a look at the file. I might be able to fix it. Send it to me at nitro2k01 at gmail dot com.

Thanks. However, what I'm most interested in atm is how it behaves on a GBA. If the ROM marked clean2 works on a GBA without this noise, I may have solved world hu... I mean this bug in a way that is applicable to LSDj as well.

I've uploaded a new version of the ROMs where the titles are displayed correctly in the EMS menu. Same link.

For this week I need a little help testing something.

http://blog.gg8.se/gameboyprojects/week06/slicetest.zip

I think you can from the filename where this is going. But, I'm researching a method of playing back samples with less noise. I would like you to to try these ROMs on as many types of different Gameboys as you can and report back here. Especially GBAs as I don't currently have a working one.

The ROM named noisy should have a sickly hiss to it while the two named clean and clean2 shouldn't. At least on a DMG. If you're testing the ROM on a DMG, please also report motherboard revision. (Look into the hole where the battery cover latch goes. DMG-CPU-0x,)

Oh, and you can press up and down to pitch the sample.

I will, in time.

As predicted, Krikzz has no plans to slow his work down. Now he's releasing an Everdrive for Famicom/NES with SD card support. Gameboy next?
