The iOS version is receiving an update this week too. Unfortunately iOS no longer supports SID though (Apple forced me to do so).
Cheers
Sparky
They have a policy about users downloading and running code. Maybe if you just include the HVSC, you can get around it? There's another sid player: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sid-pla 37485?mt=8 ; maybe the difference is that they don't let the user add .sid files. Which are executable code, aren't they? I've seen so many apps like this..

Do it if you want, nobody's stopping you and I'm sure people listen.
No I know, I was commiserating the demise of the bigger sites like that (8bc, micromusic). I know micromusic is still up, but no one goes there. Anyways, if there's enough demand for a community like that, someone will build it. Oh wait they already have, it's uCollective.
Also I wouldn't really call it an 'existential crisis' to evaluate the status of online chip music communities. We _are_ online right now.
Man I'm lagging here.

I stopped calling it "chiptune" when this site did. Don't forget to search for "chipmusic" too.
Remember also that one of the things that happened is that a lot of artists are pushing past "this is chipmusic" and are simply showing the same music as electronic music, so it won't come up in the search. If anything, lament the loss of marketability.
The Chipmusic trend is much more niche. People still get introduced to the genre as "chiptunes" I think. But yeah I never say chiptunes.
I'm all for the maturing of chip music, and artists finding a unique voice. That's how I would do it. I just like to dick around online. And something about the amature, file posting culture is cool/fun to me. Whatever though, I'm not crying about it. *sniff*

I like graphs http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=Chiptunes
Edit: I guess it doesn't look as bleak when you drop the 's'. I still think there's a bit of a slump.

@nitro2k01 Hehe.
You have passed the initial scrolling test. You are now worthy of a free gameboy program.
@KeFF You can also visit my vine page, https://vine.co/humbleTUNE. Thanks for taking interest.
ERik
Yeah the first time I went there with my iphone the page was kinda funky. I like your apps! The designs are really inspiring. I'm sure I'll end up flashing this too.

Hasn't really dug into this yet. Great stuff! Deep bass. Crazy stereo field. Emotive, non repetitive melodies. On top of that, it sounds like LSDJ.
Edit: *Haven't. I'm not Smigel.

You can do almost anything with as much granularity as you want via a table and nested grooves/hops.
Yeah, but maybe a quick convenience method would be nice. It seems like piggy has some powerful tools, but may miss some obvious easy ones. But I'm not a piggy expert, I haven't spent too much time with it yet.

PFIN is how you get vibrato:
http://wiki.littlegptracker.com/doku.ph #pfin_aabbYou can use it in a smartly table to pick the various vibrato shapes. Table hop and groove commands can also be used to get all kinds of modulation shapes.
But that's only straight lines right? Some curves would be nice. Either sine-vibrato, or sine-pitch-curve (up/down) would be a nice add. Just a "vibe" command, that had a sine function would be a nice time saver.

Syro would have been a great E.P.
L.P. not so much.
I think it would have worked better as a 1tb torrent of his hard drive.
