will impulse tracker run on a smart watch?
I think that would be neat. But it's also a matter of making something that can be sensibly used on such a small thing. What is the reason that I would prefer to make a song on the watch rather than the phone? I tend to think of the watch as controlling something on a phone/tablet/laptop, but I'm still not sure about this category.

I carry an iphone, so yeah I'd get the apple watch. It's also more pretty to me. Plus the whole apple pay thing.

i personaly can't wait to yell the likes of "Siri, C#5 01 27 H38" into my watch 64 times
Heh, I know your funnin, but I kind of like that idea, maybe.

Steam punk - literally!

HAhaha, I hadn't thought of that. I'd pay $350 for that ability. Also, fist pumping app. It plays bitshifter when you fist pump.
You need a fine chipper for bodies, not a course chipper.
Well, what are they gonna do like research n shit?
Ateno wrote:do you sacrifice making a song conventionally appealing to make it more effective at telling your narrative? Should the music first be made to listen to and then arranged in such a way that it tells a story, or should music be created with the full intent of telling the narrative if that is what is inspiring the music?
If you aren't chasing your muse, you risk being boring. If the music isn't interesting to you, it probably won't be to anyone else either. You just have to try, and then maybe fail (which in this case would be making music that isn't good, I guess) ...Pretty generic advice. C-

I think it happens both ways. But I think all music should be made to listen to.
F13 - Atomic, for obvious reasons (it's like 15:00 long; it could loop for hours without you noticing).

Used AN99YTWX3NFT. I'll post more later, but this is a cool game. Like old school GTA.
Later: I like it! Basically you evade the cops until they catch you or you crash. It's very unforgiving, but definitely a good way to kill some time, in between actual high speed pursuits. The music is great; it has a real car chasey vibe.
I can't solve for man. Except for the gameboy one. Man = gameboy/3. Or man = bacon - pggy.
Like it. Nice effects. I like the snare in the middle of bad ghosts.
I was kind of wondering if it was possible to turn audio into oscillator settings. I hope he does a write up. It sounds like synthesized speech... Which it is!
Just in case, check if your ipad is full.

but i don't think it is hard to make good drums using FM sound,
what i think that is the hardest is hi-hats, crash cymbals, and rides, all sounds that need metallic noise.
here is a FM drum beat using, my own program Power-Fm

nice! cymbals sound good/real.

I've looked into pure data, but once again, it appears to be composing music.
wait, how is pd 'composing'?
I think it might actually be easier to write a generative music patch than it is to compose like a DAW.
Agreed, pd is very machine-like. Not compositional unless you go to the trouble of making it that way.
sandneil wrote:not a fan of the anti algorithmic hate jerk here
I think there's an assumption that people just execute a program, and out pops a song. Algorithms can (and should) be guided by human intent; they can be tweaked in real time, controlled with pre-made patterns and tables, etc.
Hmm.. I think there are a lot of us (not me) who have been to chip shows and like them. If you are thinking about making something for live use, it's a good idea, provided it's a good tool.
Damn this is some nicely crafted ear candy.
