I really don't mind if people want to make noise, or really effective melodies. I really don't care, just make it interesting. Be yourself. Obviously, the people who make chip now are much more diverse than demosceners. I don't think there's anything wrong with it.

i suggest a mouse if you plan to use mssiah, not really sure if this applies for other software above

Alernatively an atari 2600 joy stick is good. They are more available i think.

Mssiah is ok, I just like being able to sync it with other devices with midi clock signals. So you could write a gameboy/c64/renoise song. If you just hit play at the same time they will not stay in sync. Just make sure to get a storage device.

I'm looking into adding commenting now. Cuz that would be pretty neat. We'll see how it goes.

Gah! Sorry not yet. I'll shoot for the next version though.

Yeah, problem is it exports as a .wav, not an .mp3 or other cm.org compatible format. So either Oliver would have to make nanoloop able to export as an .mp3 or cm.org would have to make either .wav or .nan uploading compatible. :\ Unless anybody knows of an app that can convert .wav into .mp3 on the phone. *shrug* I don't know, I'm just rambling at this point.

I think mp3 encoding is not too hard. Although it may be a while before I get around to doing something like this. It would be crazily convenient...

Hey guys I was trying to find an answer to my question (using the search bar) but I just couldn't seem to find it. I am currently making a few tracks for a DJ buddy of mine and he requested some "sick tunes with drops that I could use" but the problem is I have never made a drop with LSDJ before, so could somebody help a brotha' out? If you could give advice or posting tutorials or BOTH! Thanks a lot guys later!

Just to answer real quick. Many dance songs have a "drop". There's a light intro without much bass, and light melody, then a PAUSE.. then it comes back really loud and bassy. It's exciting.

Sometimes people think it means to DROP hedgehogs. This is wrong. Baby hedgehogs especially don't like to be dropped. They like to be fed fruit or insects.

I agree that sometimes(most of time) they want approval. But there are times when it's good to get a fresh pair of ears to listen to a track.

The first song I ever posted here was really well received, and not much has changed in terms of my sound but, every time I post something it gets down-voted from 5 stars to 4, to 3 and then eventually 2 or 1. I usually delete them at that point, because I'm unfortunately pretty sensitive. I don't mind if people dislike my music, but if you don't like it, why not post a comment as to why you gave it a 2?

Sorry to make this post, it's just been bugging me all day, I really thought I had something with this new song.

anyways if you don't like it just give me some kind of critique, i dunno.

pleh, i'm depressed whatever. sorry everyone.

Don't get bummed out about the rating system. It means very little. If it's going down it means it's getting more views, but not more comments. It's hard to get noticed, that's just how it is I think. But anyway people are listening to it. Just keep putting it out there I say. But I don't know shit about being popular.

When I was younger I'd knock out a song in one night. I'd love every moment of it. But now it seems like I'm more worried about the song being shit, so I'm never happy with it and never finish. Or finish in a month.

If I like a song I spend less time on it. It just spills out. But even if I feel luke warm about it, there can be a payoff to grinding it out.

Jazzmutant themselves also released software for the iPad that basically replaces the Lemur's functionality.

Like the iPad though, the Lemur might have been waaaaay overpriced, but it's pretty rad. We have one at work, it's fun.

Yeah I've seen the app! It looks cool but it's 50$. Maybe I'll get it someday. I could actually understand why the original was so much money, it was for a niche audiance, made by a small company. It was pretty forward thinking.
