Just curious - what is the progress with this cart?

Specifically, is it at the point where there are some recordings, even drone tones we can listen to? smile
Super excited for this.

Didn't Afterburner use thumbwheel- like potentiometer?

And for Micro you have to press right shoulder button and volume buttons to change the brightness.

What comes for button combiations, LSDJ doesn't use A + SELECT(?). Would it be possible to toggle colours using this combination?

Afterburner could be installed with a plain set resistor, a switch, but a pot was indeed ideal.

The Micro requires you use the L button in conjunction with the volume buttons to change the brightness. It would be super awkward to do with the R button if that function existed.

Also, about button presses in LSDJ...
http://www.littlesounddj.com/lsd/latest … _3_7_4.pdf
LSDJ Uses:

All single buttons
All directions + Select
A + Select
B + Select
A + all directions
B + all direction
Select + Start

Most button options + Start are free to use, but not advisable for LSDJ.

Basically, you are stuck with a hardware trigger, a hardware button, or some crazy logic gate work. Perhaps holding different buttons at bootup (while the Nintendo logo loads?), I'm assuming you are using logic gates which would allow for this, correct?

Everyone can pretend. Some people are forced to subject to correlations their minds draw on a very consistent basis. Astrology is glorified fortune cookie-esque bullshit. Synthesia is a sensual bridge that is unique to everyone who has it.

It's like apples and anvils, synthesia and astrology.

Why not make it work off the contrast potentiometer? Everytime the pot is set all the way up (blank screen), cycle through one stage of the color/function rotation. Wouldn't be hard to scroll up, wiggle your thumb a few times to cycle through to the right setting, then readjust the contrast.

Just a thought, not sure how easy it would be to take advantage of those connections.

It sure does look like it. However, the sticker on the back isn't the same as the other white DMG I see a lot on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/WHITE-DMG-01-NI … 51a7a89052

The one I linked to starts off with "GHxxxxxxx" while the one you have linked is "Gxxxxxxxx" not sure if it has to do with when it was made or where, but that's something else interesting.

I'd gamble on it, it looks super clean even if it was a grey DMG with a button swap. Go for it.

EDIT: spelling

One last idea: since all waveforms have characters for each frame (0-F) that line the top and bottom of the waveform, wouldn't it be possible to enter the characters and watch a realtime drawing of the waveform for that frame? Since you are simply placing squares on a plane, it shouldn't be too hard. Monotonous, maybe, not fun, yes, but still better than me trying to drag squares all over a grid with my fingers.

This is pretty slick! I feel like the intro sequence should be cut down to 4 seconds (faster animation, static image for longer?), and I'm not a fan of it dancing and shaking a little bit. I think it would be cooler to see it pulse down the straight line like a heart monitor (PM me if you want a design I sketched out) without the shaky bass line. Then, you could make that same base line be the initial line of the visual EQ.

Overall, great concept, just needs a bit more thought before you make more videos. Thanks for sharing! smile

I think sound design/mixing in LSDJ would be a good topic to tackle.

Dan and Zef would probably be leading the front in this sort of thing. I like.

I'd like to see:

- LSDJ save parsing, so you can easily rip instruments, presets, and wavefroms/frames (talk to 2xAA about his save explorer?)
- Longer filenames or in-file commenting, so we can be more descriptive with the names, or specific about how to use them (don't use below F4, sounds terrible)
- synth parameters for the WAV channel are essential, because some waveforms (like ones with tons of resonance) look crazy and aren't easy to replicate or draw, like a sine wave with low cutoff
- would be nice to see a hex-friendly numpad for entering stuff like envelopes and some other parameters

Looks great, kind of trumps my miniature-book patchbook idea haha can't wait to try this on my phone

Or more specifically, 2xLSDJ sound design.
