another new WIP - changed some instruments around, fixed up the speech a bit more, and jotted down some parts really quickly, none of it really final.

and those "samples" are just stock LSDJ speech programmed to say "ARE YOU RDY TO RAVE"Im talking about 0:39, pretty cool. And you were using the speech synthesis? I should start using that more
speech synth is quite fun to use once you get used to how you're meant to sequence the words. i've made my gameboy scream expletives in robotic voices more than one time.

I dunno exactly if this is your thing, but I incorporated a lot of hardstyle jawns into this ep (particularly track 2, 3 and the bonus track) http://skgb.bandcamp.com/album/the-worst-music-ep
If you're running lsdjs, and you want a hard ass kick, try doubling up pulse and wav channels. Also, use P, V, and R commands in a table to do a really heavy pulse kick (what i used for the kicks on that ep)
HAAAAAAAAAAAAARDCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE
unfortunately given the fact that the kicks are in time with the lead, i can't use EITHER pulse channels for sake of keeping the song intact. i'm stuck with the WAV and NOI columns at the moment.

refined the speech sample, improved on the punchiness (and hopefully volume) of the kick, and started adding a new section. thinking up a bridge now. anything else?
edit: new WIP

sounds great, the noise channel in the beginning is amazing, and I loved your use of the R command in it too. Did you make your own samples? It sounds like "are you ready to rage" nice stuff
the noise channel never really changed, actually.

Reckon you could get that kick any louder (or make everything else quieter)? Maybe start the pitchbend higher up too, to get a more old-school psy kinda kick.
Liking the vibe and the riff though! Keep working at it for sure.
you're right, should get working on a louder kick for the WAV channel. that one was just a placeholder for me to add something with a bit more punch, anyways.

something i've been working on out of pure boredom. i'd personally like to keep working on this, but i want to see what everyone thinks of it before continuing on it. any cc? tips? just feel like screaming at me for not being good at mastering yet?

Meh. Output mod on a dmg is highly overated and I feel unnecessary. It helps on gbc but still not really necessary.
output mod on a DMG is actually very nice if you've ever used one. i actually run a prosound DMG - if you record from your DMG or play live a lot, it helps in the long run especially because it bypasses that horribly loud noise interference you get in the stock jack.
audiophilia is a curse

Nope, i have no mods at all.
go install a prosound.
NOW.
seriously, the difference between a prosounded gameboy versus one with a regular output is like night and day. not only does it make your sound output insanely higher, but it also makes the sound clear as crystal compared to that garbled crap they call the stock output jack. just. do it.

so i'm not the only person in the "16-year-old dude messin' around with a gameboy" boat. started feeling lonely.
you can certainly work wonders on the WAV column. seemed a little repeditive and the main loop started getting pretty old, but you've got some talent for someone just getting into this. keep doing what you're doing, you'll get better in no time flat.

I can't listen in on the show tonight, but I'll definitely hear the archive when it gets up.
where's the archive at? i won't be able to listen either since i've got to sleep, but i'd love to listen to it later if at all possible

Re: Got Scammed by hunterizzle (20 replies, posted in Trading Post)
So I already dumbly posted about this in the feedback thread.. but figured I'd move it to its own little thang over here via some serious copy and paste:
"-100000000000000000 hunterizzle.. sent him 5 of my DMGs (one of them was fucking Blue) and he said he would have all the mods done within a week or two. Couple months go by of him emailing me maybe once a week about how he had a bunch of problems going on and he was so sorry but was gonna get it done soon. Another month goes by and I email him like 5 times in a row.. never received an email back. Sent them to him late August and I'm now out of 5 fully modded DMGs.
I feel like a fucking idiot"
Guess you can call this a public service announcement of sorts too, cause I would hate to have something like this happen to anybody else.
-His name is Hunter Cure
-He lives/lived in Austin, TXI wouldn't be surprised if he's dipped out of the chip community entirely, but might as well keep an eye out for him using a different username around trading posts again.
I don't have a whole lot of hope as far as getting my Gameboys back goes... but I thought I'd give it a whirl and see if any of you guys have dealt with a situation like this, and if so, how you went about handling it?
what moriokun said. get his shipping address and let the state authorities know, even if you're not in the USA
