Be original and create ur own patches

There's merit in looking at other people's patches to see how they got a particular sound.

It's definitely helped me make my own programming more complex.

What I never understood was if the patches I saved in it were made public or not. I have no problem with sharing the patches I make, but I didn't want to flood people with a ton of things they wouldn't really want.

I've got two EMS carts- one that works fabulously, and another that has some problems.

Usually it crashes after 4-5 minutes of LSDJ use. It crashes whenever anything's written to it through USB and the writer program stops responding.

Anyone have something similar happen / know how to fix it?

I hope this doesn't constitute as taking a shit on the great talent in this thread. I was rather rushed, and this was my first attempt at dithering. I would have taken way more time but I don't have time the next few days  sad .

With dithering:

I'd love to do this again on a weekend or something when I'd have time! I wanted to push my skills more than I did.

Next challenge:

UI - your challenge is!

A scene from a 16 bit noir film

Constraints - monochrome (with 3 shades of a single color, but as many shades of gray, white, and black as you like.)

Well, Xuriik forgot to write the guidelines for the next person, that's why nothing is happening. Let's get it going, then.

I think you may be confused. This doesn't work like DAW plugins, each rom is a standalone software that sequences, plays synth voices, and saves written songs.

LSDj works on a song-to-song basis, meaning synth patches in one song have to be reprogrammed in another song.

as far as the .sav thing goes, I'm not sure how it works with more than one thing on the cart.

Are there any good examples of voltage sources on the inside of a standard gameboy?

I've actually covered this in a guide I'm working on. There's some other troubleshooting information there that may help you out for future modifications.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that

I had a 100% working DMG and backlit it, afterwards the screen looks like this

as if everything is blurred in a line downwards.

I rendered that in an emulator, but that's pretty close to what the screen looks like.

I'll upload a picture of the inside of the case tomorrow, but I was wondering if anyone had this happen before.

It's a 3 led type b from kitsch bent, soldered to that capacitor right below the display.

I'd like to throw my hat into the ring, if it's still open

Find some new technique I've never used before and run with that. Things like looking at an LSDJ patch someone else made and tweaking it and then running with that are useful. Or just finding samples you like and use those. Don't be afraid to write silly music. Sometimes I try writing outside when it's sunny. Find a member of your sex of preference to be interested in and impress them with your bleeps and bloops. Think of a scene you're trying to convey.

just curious, what do you guys do to enlarge your pixels?

I use photoshop, and when I scale up from a smaller image I switch the scaling preferences to nearest neighbor, which preserves high edges. Works great for scaling up. Blows chunks for downsizing.
