e.s.c. wrote:(shrug) so you want to play game boy games and backlight a dmg instead of buying a gba sp? doesn't really make a ton of sense to me either
I typically play my games on the original hardware they were designed for. I could play my game boy games on an sp or super game boy or emulator, but, i know for me and many others, that lacks some of the appeal. Some of these game boys and consoles have been with us for decades, and are like old friends, so why not improve them?
there is value to both sides.

+1
but when clothes are required
sorry, i should have been more clear. I want to try to make your buttons. I just looked at what i said, and i guess i never mentioned it was the painted buttons i wanted info on. Usually when i see them painted underneath they don't seem to be quite so colorful. I can probably figure out how to make bubbles, but that also adds to the appeal of the look for me. was it intentional?

Ar u selling any of them.
I am!
The 3 in the right corner are for sale (black to transparent gradient, yellow to green/blue and the smokey grey, although my father was interested in that one.)
your father has good taste. my favorites are the top left 2, bottom middle and right middle.
/me runs off to play Link's Awakening for the bajillionth time.

I don't fully understand how you did this, but i love the look. They are so colorful and interesting to look at. I tried to figure out how to make a coherent question and failed. can you give precise painting steps? Also, can we get some more pics of your wood that kitsch mentioned?
This is correct. I have only played Japanese original game boy games on a game boy color, but i frequently read that all of the game boy line is region-free. The original game boy advance is a good match for that case. If you decide you don't want it i can trade something for it. I have a few games i am not likely to ever play. If you are going to import, might as well go for this (but if it were me I would never unbox it, so just send me the case )

And you don't have to worry about hinges and damage caused by opening and closing. Sure, the screens are less protected, but put screen protectors on it and don't be an idiot. I might wait for the 2DS XL for bigger screens and longer battery life.
Boy Without Batteries wrote:I like it, but it probably wont sell much better than the GB Micro
Probably true, yet I kick myself for not picking one up cheap at some point for the convenience of having it with me always, especially a special edition. I also wish I had the money or wisdom to buy out the virtual boys from my local store when they had the clearance prices.
At first I thought this was going to be a joke or a one-off. Seems an interesting idea at the very least. I would like to try it out before making a decision. The only game I plan on playing soon where 3D might be important is A Link Between Worlds. Thanks for sharing.

Pshaw. Go with the shoe polish.

THANKS I MADE IT MYSELF!
I am actually going to send away a board that I designed (someone else programmed it) which accepts an SD card and emulated a floppy drive. I will be loading games from SD in no time.
How well does it work, what is the max capacity accepted, can you split the SD into multiple disks, how much for me to get in on this? Do you mind sharing any more details? I have 6 IIes of my own that need more love. I really want to get an uthernet card eventually, somehow. I need to get a cffa300 this time around, but I never have money when I want one (or 5) and they are available.
Wow. If only more companies had such policies...
I often accidently destroy the fuck out of things.
I typically lurk in most places I visit. What types of music and sound making tools do you like, as I might be able to suggest a couple if our interests overlap.
The instructions for both use the same places for connections. Where do you typically use?
Are you interested in selling your Supercard for a reasonable price?
boomlinde wrote:humane landmines.
Is there such a thing? The idea does interest me, as I have been in areas littered with mines decades after they were placed. Can you give any details that might explain how these would be humane?
SuperBustySamuraiMonkey wrote:youll have no problems with the gbcamera, i use the flasher mostly for it, but some carts tend to get corrupted while being backuped, while others not. is kinda frustrating. It happened to me twice, using lsdj. Never using games or reading comercial carts, just with their cart.
On the other hand, they're pretty useful, you can flash them very fast and all
The site mentioned implementing multigame. Does this mean at present the carts only support a single rom image and .sav? I don't use lsdj much, but that information is useful and influences how I would use the cart with it. For now I guess I will stick to ems usb carts for lsdj, and use smartboy for nonsaving stuff and games.
Has anyone in the US/Canada run into issues with customs? It seems there were issues at times on the shipping side with customs, and this makes me want to wait until kitsch or someone here resells...I should stop being a cheap ass bastard and buy a drag'n'derp.
I have read of problems people have had with the flasher (corrupting data on the carts, for example), so that is of particular interest, if you run into issues. I plan on using it for Game Boy Camera backups.
