Does anyone know if multigame is working yet, or anything about client software (is it windows only)? I seem to have trouble accessing their site. Also I am interested in reviews and more info than I have been able to find on their site and with a quick google search.

You might try inserting and removing a cartridge in the slot repeatedly (10 or more times) if you don't want to disassemble and clean it.

Re: Computer Virus Help (71 replies, posted in General Discussion)
Since buying a new computer was suggested, maybe you can try another option with your current computer. Dual boot linux/BSD/etc (maybe darwin if you are interested in a mac) for all your iffy stuff, like pr0n, and learn what you are doing with it. You may prefer it to windows. Another option is running a VM for iffy stuff, and this can be windows if you don't want to try something else. Never use a superuser account for everyday stuff.

I am passing on the EMS cart for the moment, but I will snag it if no one else buys it.
Does it have a label?

.. I just find it weird that he didn't contact me at all. If I liked some dude's music and wanted to youtube it or something, I'd definitely contact the guy. I mean if I find his music cool and all, I'd want to let him know and give him props for it.
...Hell he's probably doing it more out of genuine appreciation for the music.. but that brings me back to the original point, if he likes it enough to put this effort in, why not contact me? It's not like I'm.. who was it.. Miley Cirus lol? It's not as much a question of 'permission' as it is one of.. I dunno.. giving people a heads up on things. Hell even just a "hey check out these videos I made with your songs" would've been great. I guess I'm just confused with the fact there was zero communication...
rygD wrote:Consider if your music was popular. Would you want 5000 emails a day asking if people can use it for this thing or share it in some way?
Well there's a huge gap between no emails, and 5000 emails per day. But yeah.. I'd be totally stoked to get emails! Isn't it what drives us all to make more and better music, knowing that people out there like it? Maybe 5000 per day would be a bit much, but getting a few of them per week would be fucking great
Ok, I see what bugged you, and I agree it would be better for everyone if people acknowledged that they were going to borrow or share the works of others. Maybe you could look at something where you are allowing people to use it and share it freely as long as they credit you AND let you know or get your approval. It is really easy to get in touch with people, so I suppose more people should send a little email with "hey, I love your stuff, mind if I do this with it?"

Thanks for the info.
I played a few of them on Wii but couldn't initially identify what you were doing with the d-pad and lines. I guess the color looked a little off, but still cool. With those pics I can really see what you were going for.
I need to get some bright green buttons for my dmg in a black kitsch case that currently has pink and turquoise buttons, so sorta resembles the default colors here, although I was originally going for a green monochrome look.

I would be surprised if my stuff popped up on youtube since I don't share it with anyone.
If I did I would feel sorta proud. They went to the trouble of crediting you, which is all I would want. I would then ask them if they want to work on stuff together.
Consider if your music was popular. Would you want 5000 emails a day asking if people can use it for this thing or share it in some way? Unless someone is profiting from your work, or using it in a way you have a problem with, I think you should be glad for the additional exposure. If you don't want people listening to your stuff, do like I do, keep it to yourself.

What color is the d-pad and where did you get it?
Interesting look.

this bit...
"Not Allowed: Hardware that lets people duplicate copy-protected video game cartridges"
...is the reason nonfinite and ourselves cannot sell carts on ebay. we've both had our issues with ebay on this (we talked at last BRKfest and compared experience notes). a few years back ebay took a turn for the worse and became a much less open marketplace.
you're fine unless someone reports you. unfortunately there are some overzealous crusaders out there (i.e., people selling similar/competitive products), so the report feature has become more of a tool to restrict the marketplace. its bogus. ebay seems to defer to the reporter, and not give the reported much of a chance.
I think I remembered reading that, which led me to look for it. I have seen what you said about "overzealous crusaders" when a family member was selling a Coach bag that was real. The person reporting it claimed it was fake. My wife got a new purse soon after that.

I doubt anyone would spend $300 on a dev kit if they didn't know what they were doing, and I doubt anyone who knows what they're doing would spend $300 on something that looks like this.
I think some of us are simply irritated by his blatant lies.

"Not allowed: Counterfeits, fakes, or replicas of brand name items"
From the auction page:
"The controller is a generic SNES controller that plug into the front of the system."
"It is a Nintendo Made Gameboy..." (no it isn't)
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/enc
ivity.html
"For a safer buying and selling experience on eBay, we don't allow the sale of items or links to items that encourage, promote, facilitate, or instruct others to engage in illegal activity." (can be interpreted various ways)
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/dup
erial.html
"Not Allowed: Hardware that lets people duplicate copy-protected video game cartridges"
from auction page:
"I am including a cartridge that can be used to create your own games. You can connect it to the computer, install the game you 100% created yourself, and then play it on the console. I have not tried it with ROMs or other illegal games, and even if attempted to they will not work. This will only play licensed games and games you developed." (Bullshit.)
I really don't think we can do anything unless we have some solid proof that he's lying. Sadly the listing looks vague enough to pass.
If that is how ebay treats stuff I should start selling storage media that "doesn't contain movies and video games".

I love my new toxic green shell, and I am now a huge fan of the density backlights. While working with them last night I came up with an idea for a themed DMG. The backlight seems an odd thing to be inspired by...but I really appreciate the design.
I picked up a chrome screen cover for another project, and now wish I had gotten them in the past.

I missed the responses, but thanks for the quick replies. I think I recall not having enough room to fit it in that location on a stock case, although I never put a hole to verify. I will poke around and figure something out, or just put it on the side.

Topic: kitsch case/easy_ps2 build question. (3 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
Anyone who has both, would there be room to fit all intact guts of a DMG inside the case and install easy_ps2 on the front? I am looking to do something similar to what Burnfingers did here:
I prefer that location, however my biggest concerns are not moving much (anything?) around inside and keeping the speaker. The outer threading on the port and the nut must be the only parts on the outside of the case (option 2 from installation instructions). If this will be a tight fit what other locations in the kitsch case have room for the port with minimal relocation of components other than the lower portion of the sides?
I will be ordering a kitsch case soon, so I am trying to get everything planned and prepared before it gets here.
