perhaps he's got some harder stuff in his archives.
Oh yeah, forgot to point out: I've spoken to cTrix already in the past. In fact, we been discussing about other things related to this. So we sorta have something going at the moment, but something more in the future with a project closely related to this.
Sweet! Excited for all future projects! :-D
yeah. i also have a restock of 55k beads coming. lol
put'em on ebay!
they'll sell for more there. and faster
Thretris wrote:You can be assured that I will have my can sprite in tow is I ever play a show, And logan, the 6x6 peg boards are made to link together. I dont think they just make large ones.
I used 6 linked 6x6 inch peg boards for my Mech Dragon, and I still have to do it in 2 halves lol
oh groovy. i'll look for the ones that can be linked.
just scored 9 of them :-D

i've been trying to put some sweet pixel art fridge magnets together to have at shows. i'll have to post some pictures when i get a chance. I didn't know anyone here was doing them. I need to find larger peg boards for larger projects. Guess i could just lay them out in pieces and fuse together.
Very nice work Thretris!
I'm with you Neil. but peeps hold on to what they know.. NSF, SID, MIDI, etc. simple small files that can be played back on simple programs.
But i think it's a dawn of a new era.. play it on your NES or NES emulator or record the audio and deal w/ it.

And also Neil has hinted that in the future NSF export may be a feature of NTRQ - how would one go about getting the data off of one of these carts onto another computer?
x
this is where owning multiple carts comes into play. as there really isn't a method for doing that to the best of my knowledge.
no argument there Star Fighter Dreams.
i too have a first version transferrer.
lol
ant1 wrote:Well, 4 of the sounds are samples. I dunno if that is really enough to qualify it as PCM based (who uses the crash cymbal anyway? ).
oh crap, you're right! I stand corrected.
i forgot about that. looking at the service manual it looks pretty straight forward though..
Now i gotta add that to my drum cloning pile. thanks a lot ant1 haha
Dude. that crash is amazing! lol. Gabber wouldn't be Gabber w/o that crash. hahaha
ant1 wrote:low-gain wrote:909 was a sample based drum machine
Um, that's just plain wrong.
the 909 really was a PCM based drum machine. they just used external circuitry to control things like tone, and decay.
So reality is.. any samples taken from a 909 are pretty much as good as a 909 pending how well they were recorded.
the only fun of having a real 909 is the sweet computer style buttons and the sequencer. :-D I miss mine. fun for live jamming
regarding the midi808.. i dont think that site has been updated in 2 years.
you can clone an 808 quite easily (i'm working on designing pcb's actually). but the sequencer is where the gold is.
And a midibox seq would be what you want to make.
but if you're using a midi sequencer of your own. all you really need to do is build up the voice pcb's and trigger them via a midi=>trigger converter.
As for my plans of a sammichSID. no major changes. i just want to build 2 of them to control via the pig and or renoise.
nordloef wrote:low-gain wrote:record the channels individually and then gate the noise.
But since its an side effect of the actual samples playing in the wavechannel this wont do you any good, better to work with EQ with this "issue" if you are to record the channels individually.
agreed.
i think if you get good at creating your own samples you can minimize the issue. but it will never go away 100% and you just have to deal with it.
I personally dont use drum kits, so i'd only use the kits for other items.. if i need realistic drum sounds or something that a game boy can't make. i'll just sync via midi and trigger via external sequencer.
record the channels individually and then gate the noise.
got the quote. totally buying the A600. :-D
