CV and Gate use 2 wires per.. so a normal guitar cable will work for each signal.

He simply cut 1 cable in half. wired the two ground (shields) together
ran that to ground on the DIY synth.. then plugged the CV wire into the CV input
adn the Gate wire into the Gate input.

**edit**

I dont know that synth at all but it would appear that to save panel space they used an 1/8" stereo input for the CV/Gate signal (since typically when you're using CV you're using gate at the same time). So he's just splitting the 1/8" stereo cable to two different cables to connect to the Novation bassstation.

In case anyone's curious:  I got my Banzai amp in today and after a few albums listening time I can give it an unconditional thumbs up.  It drives my 300ohm AKGs to above comfortable listening levels and sounds fantastic all the way.  Battery life may turn out to be an issue but I'm planning on getting some rechargeables anyway.  Yay!

try running a few sets of 9V's in parallel. smile You'll get more battery life. hehee.

first: If you are plugging your dmg's into mono channels you need to pan  one of them left and the other right.

second: "to" and "two" are two different words. wink Slow down when typing/posting a thread.

Now... Explain your entire setup going from the output of the gameboy to the amps/speakers.

if you take the cable that infradead posted a picture of out of your dmg and into either (2) Mono channels of your mixer or (1) Stereo channel of your mixer
it should be pretty straight forward if you have stereo channels.... but with mono you have to remember it's taking a mono signal and sending that out both the L and R 's of your mixer. so you have to "assign" them to Left and Right via your pan knob on the mono channels. So you'd take your Left input from the gameboy and pan it Left on the mixer. and your right input from your gameboy and pan it right on your mixer. that should split the two signals to L and R of your main outputs.

Good luck in your signal flow adventures! It can be a head twister at first but once you understand the inner workings of how mixers and signal flow works
it really gets easier. If you have a block diagram of your mixer you should take a look at it.. it will probably help make things understand.

here is an example of what i am talking about.

very nicely done vblank. smile
My buddy Tim Kaiser is giving me his bleeptronic, i might have to do this to mine.

Nice Modular!

How hard was the Paia module?  I've been thinking about the Paia Modular kit to get into modular synths and was curious how hard it was to assemble the modules.

The paia module was super simple.. only took me about 2hours to populate the pcb. i'm currently trying to figure out an enclosure for it
as it's not going to live in the modular . needs to be portable.
