Can anyone answer this question for me?

The white plastic sheets on these backlights, are they statically placed on the backlight to help it cling to it?

I was installing a backlight and decided to invert it by removing the polarization film and rotating so that it would be inverted

I know I should have just bought one inverted when I purchased it but thats my mistake. next time I know plan ahead.

now after removing the polar film the white plastic sheeting doesn't cling to the actual backlight as well and now has a splotchy appearance because of air in between the white sheet and the light.

Is there a specific procedure these are put together that makes them cling to each other?

all the rules of good painting anything apply to spraying game consoles just the same. even more so when you use spray cans because the spray pattern is erratic.

tape well those areas you don't want painted. paint only in a warmer(ish) environment.

especially when using spray cans spray several VERY thin coats and allow AMPLE time to dry between coats. build it up gradually.
whether you're spraying the inside or out just the same.

spray a coat, dry, spray a coat, dry, repeat until you get the shade/intensity/coverage you are looking for.

it's a slow process and you have to monitor your progress slowly.

No Doubt

I came here to this forum when I found a new hobby and genre of music I was excited about but was dissappointed to find that when you ask questions there a ton of people who hang out on the internet, on forums intended to discuss and share such info on said topic(s), then jump your ass when you ask something they already know, already have been asked, etc.

a mod like this I find hard to see it as commercially profitable. I imagine it took a long time to do that and wouldn't be that profitable for the effort.

it's cool to be nice

yes I just put it directly in the dye.

and I know it said teal but the hair sample in the store looked pretty close to the buttons that I am trying to match.

yes pictures are allowed

so here is the results of my attempt at green

turned out a nice semi transparent blue but far from the green that I was hoping for.

and this is what I used.

one of them I soaked in the ion color brilliance first and then when I realized it wasn't going to be green put it in the manic panic but still came out the same hue.
the other one I put in only the manic panic green but you can't even tell the difference between the two of them

I tried this with a couple of kitsch's clear silicone for green because I need some green ones to match the color scheme of the gameboy I am currently modding and unfortunately didn't get the results I wanted.
I used 2 different dyes and both the same, they have been soaking for about a day and both are coming out a blueish. maybe with some more time they'll get greener but I doubt it.

I will post a pic in a day or two when Im home and free.

Just put on ebay mssg me for any more details

when I put in a green backlight on my DMG I also switched the power LED to a Green one and now it is not very bright at all.
it looks as if it dimming from low battery power.

and yes I tried fresh batteries

what up wit dat?

so then you have to clean whatever adhesive is left with a q tip and 91% alcohol

use 91% rubbing alcohol

go slow

very carefully pry a corner with a razor and then use rubbing alcohol to slowly dissolve the adhesive

this leaves more residue behind than just pulling it with your fingers but you put less stress on the ribbon and glass this way

@Grymmtymm - Don't go around preaching about scales if you don't know everything about them. Saying every scale hits every note A-G is bullshit. Pentatonic scales use 5 notes, whole tone scales use 6. Hopefully in the future you'll learn more about scales and what defines a scale, and use it in your own methodology.

OK sure I forgot about pentatonic.
Don't go around preaching about me 'preaching' did you write the minor pentatonic? no you didn't

plus when talking about accidentals, yeah, you can always include them wherever you want to, but that's why they are called accidentals, they were 'accidentally' put where they don't originally belong

Hopefully in the future you won't take the internet so seriously smile
