Hey guys,

I'm working on a time sensitive project, and one of my Mackie MR5 MKII speakers went out. I quickly ordered a replacement off ebay, but the seller sent me the MKIII version of the speaker.

Does anybody have any experience with the differences in these speakers? If I open it up and use it for my project, I won't be able to return it, so I'm trying to determine if these two speakers could work as an effective monitor pair together.

Anybody have any ideas? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Looks like the code is referencing Channel 1 as 0 and Channel 2 as 1, so I'm suspecting the problem may be that the Teensy libraries have been updated at some point to refer to Channel 1 as 1, and Channel 2 as 2 - editing the code to reflect this may solve it?

Oh gosh, so I went through the code and incremented the channel value by 1 every time I saw the word channel referencing something. I've got it to play samples on channel 2, but nothing else. Channel 1 acts the same but no samples, which I think is correct, just missing non-samples on channel 2.

Is there a way I could use an older teensy library and just use the original code, or should I have somebody who knows what they're doing just try to update the code?

I just finished building this, but I've run into a problem.

I'm sending midi out of live, and for some reason the it is behaving as if my MIDI channel 1 is actually channel 2. I'm getting sample playback with notes >64 on channel 1, and no response at all from channel 2.

Anybody have any ideas?

is that article for real? or is it just another one of those damn chipster hip tricks! >:(

Or maybe just plunk down the money to make a single cut for myself and just ask if anyone else wants one before I send the order

you mean you use the monitors for your personal monitors (like, facing you at shows)? or as a small pa system?

I meant using them in a non-performance environment. When I'm writing music and just messing, I like to be able to hear it outside of headphones, so I've got some cheap monitors that I use in my room.

I wasn't sure in what context  OmO was planning to use the speakers

Depending on the size of your room, if you're just wanting to use speakers for composition, maybe consider a dedicated monitor pair instead?

I have a set of these (http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EON515XTpr/) for taking around to little basement shows when i need them. I generally pair them with a guitar amp, so they may run a little quiet for you depending on the space you're trying to fill. That being said, smaller active PA's are much easier to transport if you're looking into doing house shows or something.
