a whole genre of people trying their hardest to figure out how to perform their music live

Seems like they've got it figured out pretty well?

I don't know what it is about this release. On the surface it seems so simple and simple, but it just has SOMETHING that just sets apart from other simple simple things. I don't know what it is. It makes me feel a bit bad for the newbies who end up making simple simple things but just can't measure up to this level for whatever reason.

It's just so much fun and has so much heart. So unabashed and unashamed. Just pure heart and fun and fist pump.

It's funny how the last segment of Patrick Trinh's article describes Anamanguchi's endless fantasy as exactly what a video game soundtrack should be. tongue

Edit: Especially this

The rest of the album is content to provide you with incredibly dense, rich soundscapes that don’t ask much of you other than your existence while each song plays. This participation is what really grabs me when listening

this

it’s about you and what you feel when existing in each soundscape (read: song). It’s an album almost perfectly designed to daydream to.

and this

Anamanaguchi, on Endless Fantasy, has written perhaps the best song I’ve ever heard that deals with snow, which is a specific example that really pinpoints what Anamanaguchi is good at doing — creating a space for you to think about your own experiences with a specific idea. Snow is the kind of thing that everyone has memories about that are almost too nuanced to explain to anyone else

except substitute "your own experiences in the memories of your mind" with "the overall vision of what the developers had in mind for the game" tongue

8bit music... right-click>open in sound recorder accessory>File>Convert>>Choose Format>8bit pcm>Ok>File>Save.

so when you blow on a cartridge the oxygen from the Carbon Dioxide that humans exhale bonds with the contacts and oxidizes them? Interesting. I always thought it was blowing dust off of the contacts that helped, not the humidity. I always tried to blow into the cartridges with a more closed embouchure. Does that mean it'd actually be better to use a wider embouchure to allow more humidity to escape?

Wow, haha. This is awesome. I've been listening to Information Chase at least twice a day for the past 3 weeks big_smile

imo lgpt has a lot of unique features so its not a "regular old sample tracker" after all. even on windows its very cool & there are reasons to choose it over other trackers

::) you know what i meant

Too bad you cant setup a dropbox folder on a psp or game park  or whatever, haha.

By the way, lgpt's control layout is customizable,, so if you dont like default there is always that.

Speaking of downgraded OP anime op themes, the second op for toriko sounds like its trying to to be the first one but not.

So i have no idea about this but you said you formatted the ems to remove all rom from it? But zerolanding said he puts a camera rom in the ems before transferring. Mmiht this be where the problem lies? Sorry if im missing something  obvious. Just trying to be helpful.

But can it wub?

big_smile YES!

sweet! big_smile Thanks for taking the time to show us all this.

lgpt is literally just a regular old sample tracker that just happens to have been built for the game park device because the author thought it could use a nice sample tracker. Nothing special about the game park device versus any other device. It's not like it's an Amiga or something. :3

Somebody should port LGPT to Ouya big_smile

Ah, see now that explains why I couldn't get the proper feel from the drum machine performance. Needs music hall reverb tongue. Anyhow, great job. An admirable tribute. I like all that stereoy stuff that's going on.

It's kind of like what happens when I play back my midi transcribed version of a song that has a non-rounded BPM, big_smile.

I guess you have to be familiar with the original piece to enjoy this? I don't get it... Is there some kind of technical feat that is being accomplished here that I'm missing? Or is this simply just a clapping sequence mapped to drum machine and nothing more? Am I not supposed to listen with headphones?

I feel like I'd probably enjoy a live "human clapping" version better. I do think it's cool that this is a classical piece, though, and apparently an effort well appreciated, so... good job. It was just too long for me to be able to really get into just the rhythms of a single type of sound. sad

If youre talking about the ones that come as frozen patties, i like to pop them in the toaster a few times. Faster than oven, buut still  nice and crispy.

Wish i was in the frisco so bad

more seriously, the choice of medium changes the tunes a lot! makes em real warm and intimate, lots of love in there. smile!

Like 240p on youtube, riiiiight? :-------)

Man, but seriously, they make portable tape decks so junk nowadays, not to mention they only record to one ear. Where do you get a good tape deck/portable tape recorder?

if it's easier for you that's cool but i only use ctrl, a, s, and the arrow keys and i can write super quickly with my pc- not to mention the fact that i have the internet/hard drive right there for samples, as well as being able to record right then and there (which you mentioned). in my mind it saves steps and i don't lose anything, except perhaps portability but i don't really write music on planes or buses that much..

If you wanted you could snag a usb gamepad and map the buttons however you like.  I use an xbox afterglow (i think that's what it's called) when PC piggin.

Sonny boy ill tell ya back in my day we could beat contra two players on a single standard keyboard with lives to spare, key lockups and all. Pshaw. And no tool assistance neither.

Im always surprised at how many people assume that the only way to interface with a pc is through keyboard and mouse. There are xbbox controllers f n, not to mention there are actually usb contollers made specifically for pc gasp
