Unfortunately, I think any chipmusic made with NES systems is doomed to this list if it has the words "coin", "block", "princess", "mushroom", "fireball", "pipe", "warp zone", "pocket", "jiggly", "super", "mega", "buster", "spreader", etc, even if it's not supposed to be a game reference.

Ikari Warriors 2 ftw, amirite? ;D (we've been over this already, I know...)

I keep seeing that insurance commercial with that Human League song "Human" in my head. Stupid hulu ads...

No, but this is really cool. I got chills when the instruments came in on the first track. Are you the guy who's been posting songs in the music section tagged as "new jack swing"? Edit: <-----stupid question.

Nice singing, too man. It's brings a modern touch to it all.

Edit: Um... but dude, how you gon' do a new jack swang tribute without an "urban" styled song, rapped bridge optional but preferable? Come on, brotha. That's where it all started, man. Get that R&B and Soul Funk and mix in some HIp-Hop beats and bam!

Edit: Edit: Hey, man, with the way this thread is going, you may be out of luck... sad

hello please can you send me money so i can sit in my room and smoke weed and make tunes rather than having to get a job thank you xoxo

But isn't that how it normally is anyway? Well, substitute room for studio? The whole point of having a patron is to do what you like full-time while being sustained and not starving to death... Isn't it?
I'm actually only half-serious and I agree with you.

"If I had a patron
chuppy chippy-chippy chippy-chippy-chippy-chippy chum
Then all day long I'd biddy-biddy-bum
If I was on patreoooOOOON"

Edit: I just go by the username I've been using since I signed up for a month of free dial-up from AOL...

Am I missing out on some dope tunes because of my snobbery towards these kind of names?

Yeah. Or at least, you're missing out on some genuine music by genuine people. YMMV on whether it's dope or not. I personally really like "No More Hurting People" by Bleepicheep, though. He has some other promising material, too. And Twistboy just kind of rocks in general.

Any sort of pun on the word gameboy in general.

Hehe... I'm working on a song titled "While My Seriousbusinessman Gently Weeps"
<_<
>_>
Hey, if Gottschalk can have a song called "The Banjo" and what about "Dueling Banjos" and "Concerto Number # For Violin"? Has anybody used the title "Fiddle Me This" yet? LOL

about 80% of chipmusic release

I'd say that goes for about 80% of modern instrumental/non-lyrical music in general. Especially smooth jazz... ugh.. Actually, a lot of "songs"(music with singing).have terrible titles, and even more terrible lyrics.

Do these have to be real titles or can we make them up?

Can we have a thread for cheesy awesome song or album titles that you can think of that fit the whole chip scene vibe?

Or is that not a thing?

I could skate to this.

Isn't that how patronage was back in the olden days, though? They'd put the artist up, and pay them to be artistic?

Well since your problem is solved, a little hijacking is in order...

Oh. Open the Gameboy and take the contacts out so you can rinse them afterwards. Obviously that's more work if the problem is with the one of the contacts that are connected to the motherboard, but I've found that in most cases people have apparently stored 'boys in a position that makes the battery acid run down to the bottom contacts only.

I don't think I'd have to rinse it after spraying with electronic contact cleaner, since the stuff evaporates and doesn't leave any residue.

I finally got my Gameboy open, and...

Looking from the back of the Gameboy, I have to adjust the battery farthest to the right in order for the Gameboy to power on. That's the only one that has problems. Looking at the contact from the inside, it looks pretty horrible. Is it dangerous to get vinegar on the PCB?

There're also other points of corrosion, and my speaker doesn't get as loud as it should.

Other than that, it seems to function fine other than some vertical lines. Headphones jack works,
buttons, and everything else.

After I closed it back up I found what appears to be a tiny green piece of the PCB sticking to the side of my Gameboy. It has the number "6" on it. >_>

Me? I was in university when youtube first started up.

Or maybe you were talking about the OP...

I thought this was a thread for an album entitled "Drinking Bleach" by the band "Dead Children".

We already think that without youtube. Youtube just gives us a platform for expression.

Not to mention online message boards...

Looks like a kickstarter video. =S

Edit: Also, it looks interesting/coolish. It reminds me of music appreciation class.

I just have to say, after listening to thebitman's demo, the noise channel on that GB Boy Colour is quite snappy! I like it big_smile

some of the guys like to hear the writing process in the car and give feedback as i'm moving along with the track. It's awesome.

That really is awesome.

I really like the concept of your instrument editor!

Yeah, man. This is what hooked me. Well, that, and the example tunes that come with it.

The instrument editor is so user friendly, and even tells you what does what so you don't have to memorize all the commands. Are there any other trackers besides HivelyTracker, LSDJ and LGPT that incorporate "tables" into the instrument creation process?

Yeah. I actually have used the contact cleaner spray to clean battery contacts in a few things, including my Gameboy. It worked, but I also got the stuff all inside the system with my indiscriminate spraying. I don't think it hurt anything, though, since that's what it's designed for?

I just find it interesting that nobody ever mentions contact cleaner here. it's convenient to be able to spray it into hard to reach places, especially with the straw extension. But I guess that's not really needed in most game system modding applications, especially with cheap vinegar and alcohol available.

Would contact cleaner spray work just as well? I bought some at radio shack some years ago to clean my guitar's pots, but I never hear anybody mention that stuff on this forum as a solution for anything ever.

Hm. There's a small two-mic pre-amp thingy at my local pawnshop. It probably doesn't do exactly what you're wanting, though. I'm going to have to take a look at it later. Reading this thread, it seems like it could be a useful thing.

I'm imagining that if one of those pocket-pod type mini guitar amp things had two stereo inputs, it would be perfect for this type of thing.

You know, it'd be kind of cool if somebody could mod an audio input jack to a DMG so you could hook your second DMG into it and get the sound of both through the main DMG's headphones jack/speaker.
