*sigh* I need money to burn, like, now sad

Now I feel kind of sad that I finally just found my original battery door after, like, 6 years...

Hey I guess you have improved.

Nice chords on the first one. @0:37 Bass(?) seems like just a random note thrown in completely unrelated to what the chords are doing, but I could just be missing something. Also, while it doesn't feel empty, I feel like it's kind of a waste not to use the 2nd pulse channel for something in the earlier parts of the song. Even just, like, a little pitch bend or sweep to compliment the noise snare (think Megaman). But still, it sounds cool. Nice arps.

Second tune sounds really cool. Bass is nice and bassy. big_smile Really cool.

As for CC, I feel like snares could be a bit snappier, but that's just nit picking.

Oh snap, I just realized this is Megaman 3, with my favorite classic Megaman tune of all time Blues whistle theme.

I wasn't expecting this version to be all hip-hopped and stuff. Cool. Grows on you.If it was a bit more chill, I'd say it reminds me of Nujabes.

This thread is kicking off my Google Chrome malware alert. Something about delek.com.ar

Maybe it's just me. Might want to look into it?

I'm liking it so far. Good stuff. Kind of zoned out on Wily stage 2, though (the "BRK" of Megaman music, perhaps?). It was good. But it just is wily stage 2, you know?

The first track was interesting. Glad I scratched that surface a little bit...

The Elecman cover is one of my favs, too.

Rockman Xover (ロックマン Xover Rokkuman Kurosuōbā, pronounced Rockman Crossover) is a title for Apple's iOS platform marking the 25th anniversary of the Mega Man franchise, and was released on November 29, 2012 on the Japanese iTunes Store. The game features a new protagonist, OVER-1 (オーバー ワン Ōbā Wan), a Reploid created by Dr. Light and Dr. Cossack, confronting villains from the entire Mega Man franchise, who have crossed between dimensions to join forces.

LOL, *smh*

but it's, like, #3 on the free apps list, so that's something.

Just in time for 25th anniversary, eh? Great timing big_smile

Edit: Download link leads to a 404 and some annoying ads. Removing ".html" fixed it for me, though.

I'm going to have to play through the original MM3 immediately before watching this to really appreciate it properly, I think. I watched up to the first "weapon get" screen. Awesome stuff.

Okay. This is a bit off topic, but I remember when the Pocket first came out the commercials were like "The screen is the same size, the gameboy is just smaller so the screen looks bigger", but I see all these websites that say the pocket's screen IS bigger than the DMG's. What's what?

Also, I've always been partial to the green tint, myself. I'm glad BGB does it right smile

I've had a few tunes that I thought were cool that were created in my dreams. I usually try to sing/hum all the parts into Audacity or a tape recorder as soon as I wake up, or else I'll lose it forever (unless I have the same dream again?). It's scary, because it will be disappearing from my mind as I'm recording.

4. Plan for (or at least consider) the possibility of your channels being used to generate in-game sound effects while your track is playing.  Hypothetically*.
5. Entrants should each pick a specific audio track from the game.  All in-game SFX will be regarded as one "track".

Not quite sure I'm following this. Is it as Saskrotch says?

kind of a waste to leave out a pulse channel for that.

??

What do you mean by "track"? Are you saying we're able to "cover" the sound effects as a musical submission?

yeah sure this is "how do i dubstep my chiptune thread #7636-B", but I find it completely hilarious that the same scene that just got finished a whole month of circle jerking over moe moe kyunstep wants to flame a kid for asking how to do it

Dubstep on a Gameboy is a completely different topic from Dubstep on an NES tongue

"wants to flame" but there seems to be quite a good bit of holding back...

So, to program a drop in LSDJ, all you need is a K00 command, then.

You're crazy man!  NES has some of the best envelopes and volume control around.  (At least on the pulse channels).

Also, NES with expansion sound dumps on anything GB.

I understand that it has great control, but I guess I haven't really delved into anything that makes it sound as smooth as what I've heard on the GB. I guess Protoman's whistle isn't a good example to follow...

I love the NES Triangle bass.

I really "hope" I'll be able to "catch" this.

Just make a simple ping, followed by a sudden drop in volume with a slow decay.

I like them both. NES has a bit more dimension because it has 5 channels as opposed to four, but the Gameboy has the very versatile WAVE channel.

The Gameboy's envelopes seem to be smoother (at least when I compare Famitracker's implementation of volume enveloping vs. LSDJ's. I don't know if it's caused by the hardware or the software, though), while the NES seems to just have a smoother rounder sound overall.
