90% of my composing happens on the toilet so i eat food first to prepare.

Once I am on the toilet, comfortable, I will spend around 40 minutes up to 2 hours just laying down notes until i get something that sounds good.
Then when i am in bed i will spend an hour or so of actual composing.

I will also mess around on a piano making melodies or listen to music to get inspiration.

mabye just clarify what "general discussion" is for rather than scrapping it

Maybe instead of new categories, we make a rule/guideline to clarify what types of gray-zone threads would be allowed.
For example all the ones above are acceptable.
Whereas threads like "Hey look at this picture for the lulz" are just an annoyance.

Or maybe we should just let it be to the mods to decided if a thread is appropriate.

Most gray-zone threads fall in to two categories, purposeful or a waste of time and internet space.

You also have to take into account that a lot of people on the internet are dicks, or just, you know, intelligent, and hate annoying, pointless threads, especially since the point of this forum was to get away from that kind of forum (when 8bc was still around and people had a viable choice). You can't complain about one without taking the other into account.
