and I shouldn't want/need a mentor.

I was saying we can't really just hand you a friend. I mean, if you just want some one to review your music, TheBitMan is a cool guy who is pretty good at it.

No one can really refer you to any one specific, if i gave you the name of a guy who is a friend who reviews my music he wont give 2 craps about you. You really have to spend some time mongering to find one of these guys. I know in my last year on this website, i would just get pm's from people just asking whats up. Im sure if you spend some time on this website or others you will find some people.

On another note, you can always talk to phone prostitutes.

I don't find myself always producing what I want to hear though.

Why would you do that

When you go into your studio/bathroom, don't go in with any expectations, that's the only way you will be happy with  your music, enless your music is making you money, then you're doing something right.

Alright, I see your point. So, how exactly does an amateur contribute to an already mature community such as chipmusic.org?

Don't try.
I did.
And look where i am now.
Oh and future advice, don't ever, ever, ever make a "chiptune essential crisis" thread.
Follow these rules and you'll have all the personal connections you want.

I deliver newspapers, I get up at 12:00 am and get home around 4;30 on a good day. It's not exciting, but it's kind of fun.

I don't really have a real job but i work with my dad at this veneer shop, i got paid 10.50 and hour with no taxes since im not employed really. I got a good sum of money for a 15 year old to have, spending it mostly on drinks and food, video games. I worked about 12 hour days, moving large piles of wood with a fork lift, also cleaning crap up. My Dad happens to be one of the best people in the field of veneer, designing fancy wood stuffs for jets and celebrities and stuff.

if you cant find the nuts, go to radio shack and buy the 1/8" jacks, and just use the nuts on them. its something like $2.50 for 2 of them

I had the same question but wasn't sure how to ask it.

I think 1/8" is the best jack you can get, you can always get adapter jacks for 1/4' stuff.

It's no secret that majority of us see no reason to play a song in live mode, and it gives it away when you just stand there holding a gameboy looking at it and acting like your doing something hitting the dpad.
