thanks a lot people for your advices. Though, something I should have mentioned before, is that I live in Italy, and most brands you named are not really to be found round here. But i will try to do my best to find something similar...
I found a soldering iron from an Italian brand with 2 watt settings: 20 and 40, with a really small 0,2 conic tip (which I'm told is a good thing).

could that one be ok? I'm willing to spend what it takes to have something I can work with in the next years, but at the same time I don't want to spend more than I really need.

Hi!
I need to get me a decent soldering iron, but I'm really no expert in this field. What do I need to consider when buying one? How many Watts do I need? What is too much and what isn't enough? Does a station with adjustable temperature make sense? Or is it overkill?
I need this to do some circuit bending, and to solder kits I will buy soon like Shruti-1 and SammichSID
thanks a lot!

My gf took this for my RPM album sleeveart so they are pretty artsy, haha.

But really not so far from truth, I sit on our carpet, drink coffee and try to write some music.

the Launchpad in the briefcase is really great!

I was looking at the XU1541, but there's one thing I don't get... it seems it's only made to connect a 1541 floppy diver to the pc, but I need to connect my C64 to something where I can store data... is there a trick to do this with the XU1541 or do I have to get a 1541Ulitmate?

Mopho keyboard is on the way as well, and it's compatible with the Tetra so you could chain them together and have a 5 voice poliphony... I'm thinking about buying a Tetra as well once I have the money... I think the advantage of it towards the Prohpet 08 is that it's got suboscillators, which fatten the sound up a bit. If you still want to go for the prophet, make sure it's the latest model, the old ones had pretty bad knobs afaik

yeah agree with that. there's ton's of cool synths for the iphone out there, but the screen is just not the right input device for most of them... but I'm sure you can do fun stuff with it as an additional device... so add some fx here and there, could be interesting for a live situation as well

I'm not sure I can afford one now, because I don't use the Gameboy right now... but I'm considering to do it in the near future, when will you run the next batch?

Got it working now! It's a weird thing that it works, but it does... I only hope short-circuiting the CV and Gate doesn't damage the Bass Station. I'll post some track with the sx-150 sooner or later...
thanks for the help!

Of course, Welle:Erdball are famous! Never thought they sounded anything similar to krautrock though, nor does the songs you've linked to sound anything like it. How do you mean?

Their production is very uneven. I like some albums a lot, but some are quite crappy. Saw them live in Stockholm a couple of years ago though (Covox and I hung out with hundreds of synth- EBM- and goth-people the whole night – we were the only blonds in the whole venue!), and it was a fucking amazing show!

well I agree that the examples I brough are not the best ones... but I think a lot of things from them sounds like kraftwerk and other german electronica bands. It may have something to do with the synths they use...
Anyway I agree, some of their albums are really bad...
