It's all a matter of using the right tool for the job.  The wave channel can get an octave lower than the pulse channel, so  your kicks and basses kickier and bassier, but the wave channel also has the most tonal variation possible, so it makes great melodies too.  I usually use sample drums, so my wave channel is taken up by that, with pulse bass and melodies.  Just experiment and have fun with it, you'll find something you like from every channel.

That sounds like a band-pass filter to me.  Lots of wah pedals are band-passes.

Endearing, curmudgeonly assjack?

Roboctopus also share a LOT of his .savs too.  Those are invaluable.

Read up on ARGs and the MIT puzzle hunt for ideas.

Each of my albums is a narrative, and I try to leave it up to the listener to decide what they think that narrative is.  I've always wanted to try to hide a puzzle hunt in an album, with some more narrative at the end of it, but that would best be done by someone much smarter than I.

Okay, what this guy did was despicable, but he's being responsible about it and dealing with it, and if he follows through, anyone who fucks with him at that point is worse than he ever was.  This guy did something stupid years ago, and while he hasn't done anything about it up to this point, he's at least communicating and taking steps to fix it.  Let's make this a happy story.

I just feel like setting out to make a genre instead of just making music is a fundamentally flawed approach.  Put on top of that that genre and the means of production are just different, and this is just silly.  I like FM a lot, and this is still silly.  I also like peanut butter a lot, but I'm not starting a new genre of cooking where I make 3 course meals out of only peanut butter.  FM is another tool in the toolbox, just like any other musical tool.  You don't have to start a movement for everything you like, it's okay to just like things.

I think basing a genre off of instrumentation is a bad idea.

I wish I could go sad  Kill it dude.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, midiout wasn't implemented until version 1.2.0 of the arduinoboy code.
