@ShinTaroumusic not sure how hardcore you are about your diet but as a former employee of BK I know they run the veggie patties on the same meat grease soaked conveyer belt as all their meat products.  They do taste pretty good though.  They are just morning star brand patties.

yeah i expected as much... what can ya do /:

morningstar is the shiz tho

i've been pescetarian for 3 years. the veggie burger at  Burger King is pretty alright

^ sadly ):

On a side note, (and i don't mean to be all whatever..) I really think that option ought to be implemented soon...

daaang those are pretty yikes

That's really generous of you, Corey! Good to hear things are looking up for you man.

I couldn't say who to donate to, though... There are several new flash carts in the works right now, and Nitro is always cooking up fun new projects

I think the singe on the ribbon is not the problem, as long as the thin ribbon wires are not snapped/broken and the burn is not on the connector end.
I added a white LEDx3 backlight to a PIL DMG not too long ago, and the DMG had been working fine before I started modding it, but after I put in the backlight, I would turn on the DMG and the backlight would turn on, the sound would work, but nothing displayed on the LCD except a big black square. I tinkered around with different resistors and different methods of wiring the backlight to the DMG, but none fixed the problem. Then someone (probably Kitsch) suggested changing the caps to fix that problem, because the caps eventually die out especially on the older models. Even if that isn't the problem, changing the caps is still a good idea to prevent the DMG from having any problems in the future.

One of mine recently black-screened also... I'll have to give that a try.

I don't think the ribbon cable is easily fixable, unfortunately... I'd say your best bet would be to swap the whole front PCB with a new one. hmm

Ah I was thinking of the backlights from Nonfinite. I didn't read you got yours from Kitsch. I've actually never bought backlights from him, I'm guessing the film is built into his then.

You gotta be super careful with that back ribbon cable my friend.. Also there should have been a darkish, square shaped piece of film that came with your backlight, it goes in between the backlight and the glass panel. afik, you need polarizing film to see anything in an LCD.

You might just have to get yourself a new front PCB. sorry! sad

a couple things to check though,

Does the contrast wheel do anything?
Did you remember to put the new polarization film in?
Was the back ribbon cable all the way inserted, and was it ever yanked/bent at all?
