Everything works, although I keep tweaking the screw tensions to try to take pressure off the screen… I'm not sure if it's that specific backlight or what, but I can't get it in there without a significant amount of pressure being on the screen.

Yeah, I think it must be the nonfinite backlight. I have noticed they are a just slightly thicker than optimal. I think kitsch and apeshit's backlights are thinner

yeah super thanks nitro! awesome!

edit: the game names show up as TEMP... is that just because the file name is too long?

Green looks beautiful. I'm guessing I'll get the same result by inverting Lsdj with a inverted backlight as I would with a biversion chip?

Correct, the biversion chip uses hardware to invert the brightness signal
Lsdj inverts via software (the feature of lsdj)

Both result in the exact same inverted signal going to the LCD, just two different ways of doing the same inversion of the bits

nitro (or anybody), has anybody created a reference image or anything that identifies which points are regulated power sources and which are unregulated? any schematic diagrams at all would be great!

i wired my nonfinite backlight to the points on step 8 of this guide for kitsch's: http://images.kitsch-bent.com/documenta … B_ver1.pdf
(i did wire in the separate resistor that comes with the nonfinite light)

are those points regulated? i assume so because of where they are...

just finished this puppy. actually not quite done - the switch is for the pitch oscillator but I want to replace it with a smaller push-button or rocker switch, and also the screen protector fell off (just resting there to look nice for the camera).

fuschia backlight, I have the hex inverter chips tho to bivert it and may do that yet... (have 74hc04 but also 74hc86 is the one that can be used with a switch). would be pretty cool. I thought the fuschia (nonfinite) backlight was too blue for the color scheme when inverted with the polarizer. maybe if I add the hex inverter it will look better. the buttons are transparent pink but look more red in the pic.

actually pretty much themed like this site big_smile

Cool Stan, definitely gameboy pockets with custom backlighting, NOT just modded gameboy lights. You'll probably have to cut the plastics case to make it all fit, just plan it all out and do yr best to visualize everything before putting it together. I fit backlight, switch for light, extra pro sound audio jack in mine and there is room for a pitch bend knob if I take the speaker out (which I will)! Happy modding!

Next step is put the sp'a rechargeable battery in there... But torn up inside because sp batt=600mAH vs 2xAAA=1100mAH, and the life of a single charge or set of batteries is what I really want to extend. Plus sp batt is lithium ion meaning in 5 years will be below 50% original capacity...
