Doesn't DSEO work with Windows 8? I guess not since it's not listed in the compatible OSs. Otherwise, can't you press F8 when booting, like you can with Windows 7?
If Windows 8 is anything like Windows 7, you could try opening an administrator command prompt and doing the following command. This should make the Windows boot manager show up for 1 second on each boot, which should allow you to press F8, again, unless Windows 8 is different in this regard.

bcdedit /set {bootmgr} timeout 1

Nope; Windows 8 doesn't have the F8 boot menu thing.
Also, DSEO doesn't work with Windows 8. Can't even use it to go into Test Mode.
I just used the "special restart" thing and disabled driver signature enforcement.

by anyone i mean anyone.. i just dont knw. i have no idea. its weird, chip=win got no.1 bandcamp release, and so did chipzels new thing, thats all weird to me. chipthrash is really just chiptune.. who cares its all the same shit. i mean, chipthrash has taken its own little scene of people which im glad of, but its all melded into the same shit.

My way of handling this is the fact that my band (noise rock/punk/new wave/shoegaze) uses the game boy in our stuff, but we don't "advertize" it as some kind of gimmicky shit that makes us "that game boy band" or make everything in our songs super gameboy-centric. Having vocals definitely helps in this process. Most non-instrumental chiprock bands I listen to have genuinely become music I'll go out of the way to play on my iPod and stuff, and friends of mine like the music without knowing anything about chipmusic. I sort of almost feel like the instrumental...ness(?) is what's killing a lot of chipmusic. Without injecting the expressiveness of a human voice into the mix, you can only go so many places.

As for straight up chiptune, I've been experimenting a lot with making glitch/drill and bass in lsdj for the past few years, because it feels like a bit of an under-tapped style. I've found that it kind of attracts everybody, weirdly.

Also, chipthrash will never die, because it's fun, relatively easy to get into for even a semi-beginner in lsdj, and perpetually basement-show-ready.
Or it will, I dunno.

Jorts and Vans are sadly a check. Also, I wear super fucking 'hip' t-shirts from the 5-dollar store when I go all out and [chip]thrash.

Don't make the same mistake I made, kids.

Play it smart:
Starched collared shirt, ripped up jeans, and a shitty bolo tie.

Nope. It's exactly the same. Maybe you're thinking of the SGB which is 2.4% faster. However, this doesn't do you much good. as the CPU still sees the same thing internally. It has the same number cycles to complete all writes to video RAM etc, so it will just about the same.

Only advice I can give to the OP is to optimize your song.

I know the sgb is a bit faster, but for some reason I thought I remembered hearing the pocket was around the same speed as the sgb. Whoopz

It plays a 50% pulse lead. Membrane keyboard. It has an option of decay or attack, long or short release, loud or soft, and there's a little "note slider" for tuning. Came with a decent audio out jack already on it. Wiring is kinda funky though, because it's never quite tuned to itself, the slider makes a crazy distorted pulse sound, and sometimes the decay mode stops working and makes the length of the notes mega quiet. Not perfect, but usable.

Pocket's a touch faster than the DMG, mind. GBC's fine and dandy if you prosound it and give it a good mixing board treatment.

It's pretty nifty. Several pre-made 'drum kits' with one drum assigned to each button, with flam capabilities.

My town is one over from a haven for noise music/noise rock. Also some friends from high school and I are in a folky indie rock type collective. A small bit of online involvement.

That one Slipknot album where they were actually pretty different and experimented with different mixes and sound textures and instrumentation and stuff but like we're still talking about Slipknot so sad

This is really more like "Shit, I haven't uploaded anything in ages, and my album is taking a long time...I guess I should upload something to tide my friends over in the mean time."

On the upside, they're tracks I've wanted to record for a long time, now.

Regardless, give it a listen if you're so inclined. A little sampler of 3 ditties with 1xLSDJ + DMG01. One electronica, one drum and bass, and one EDM.

this.

If you think about it, a lot of artists who are more "professional" are less likely to visit a small time forum such as this. Take people like Johan Kotlinski, although not a musician, is still a very important person in the scene, when was the last time that you saw him post around the forums? Same with Anamanaguchi, they don't really post, although they have a representative. Starscream are also very infrequent posters. However, you do have well known chip artists who come here, and comment on shit on a regular basis, Danimal Cannon being one.

Kotlinski makes/made music as Role Model.
