yeah.. i mostly use piggy now (well entirely for d_strct), so does starpause, plus bleo, xc3n, matt nida, etc and no one considers any of us to be somehow less a part of the scene (even if some of my stuff isn't really that "chip" sounding since i'll use longer samples, guitar riffs, etc, but neither is a lot of amiga stuff that i like either)

the Amiga's samples make a really gritty, spacious field of sound that you don't have in piggy, etc I find.

If we're strictly talking "true chip v. fakebit", technically it's still valid. As mentioned earlier, sample-based tracker technology dates all the way back to the demoscene, and you're using a handheld running tracker software. Plus, supposedly LGPT is gonna have synthesis added.

Started working on a riff in lsdj and when i go to listen to it from the song screen a crackling sound is heard. When I go to the phrase channel the riff is in the sound stops. Even when I mute ALL channels if i hit start on the song screen only the crackling sound is heard. Its similar to when you use the O command and bounce left to right quickly but i'm not using any commands yet. None of my other tracks do this. Any ideas?

It's a processing noise. Do you use a prosounded GB?

"Trust Fund Psychopath" is the most hardcore idea for a band name ever. That's the only good thing that could possibly be associated with this dickwad.

EDIT

I can open bloodcart just fine in bgb and open all the songs. futcart however shows up empty.

The bloodcart is just fine, but the file tilted "futcart" didn't have any data on it when I opened it in lsdj manager. Try re-reading it again from the cart to pc.

Interesting. I was able to open futcart in VisualBoyAdvance and it seems to work fine. And now it seems to work in BGB again.. Thanks for your help!

The last few times I've tried to backup my two EMS carts, the LSDJ savs have not been working. . Whenever I open them up in BGB, there is no song data whatsoever in LSDJ..Its like the back up software isn't even reading the SRAM off the carts. Do you guys know whats going on? Are my carts totally dead now??

BGB sometimes doesn't properly associate files for some reason. Try this: Download VisualBoy Advance, open the rom, go to 'import', hit 'battery file', import the .sav. Then try opening the rom in BGB instead. That seems to properly integrate the ROM to the .SAV for other emulators like BGB for some reason. I guess it has a hard time associating the ROMs to the SAVs by itself. Dunno why. What normally happens when it's not reading it is it'll see the .SAV as something not file-associated and as a result will try to auto-create an empty sav file for the rom. But (assuming your cart batteries are fine) if you save the .SAV back onto the cart (the actual one, not the emulator auto-sav one), it should still work properly on the cart itself, regardless of whether or not it's working in BGB.

Also, as others said, always make sure that the ROM and SAV names are identical.

Making a line out there gets you the same sound as a gameboy with prosound would give.

Not quite, as the SGB runs faster than the DMG.

Also affects L, V, and P commands.

how come Solstice is suddenly a wretched game?

it's a wonderful C64 style adventure

I hate its isometric view and the controls feel kinda awkward and I found that others do too *shrug*

Follin also did the music to Solstice which is a wretched game. This song is a banger though.
