Re: First LSDJ song... (6 replies, posted in Constructive Criticism)
Oh wow, didn't know there were some .sav files up for grabs. Definitely checking them out! ^_^ I took most of the instruments from the LSDJ patchbook and then played around with them. A couple don't even sound remotely like the originals...
Yea, box.net will stream files if they are mp3s, but my converter was being stupid. I just checked out Soundcloud and they seem pretty good.

So yea, my goal is to have some mini 3 song EP done by the end of the month so I can get more detailed critique of my songs. I'm looking at a minimum length of 3:30 for each song, so I'm going to have to be really creative to keep it from getting bland. I pretty much ran out of ideas on this one for a bit...

Topic: First LSDJ song... (6 replies, posted in Constructive Criticism)
Yea, I debated posting this here as I don't really think it's finished to me, but 1:30 is a pretty good length of time for me after spending 5 hours messing with the program for the first time.
Fixed

So any help or advice would be wonderful. The drum riffs really killed me to make. Any tips for better sounds or rythyms? How about the song composition itself? Just pretty much any and all C&C is accepted. ^_^

Re: what's on yer gameboys aside from LSDJ? (62 replies, posted in General Discussion)
I only have GBC games because my GB games all ended up dying in the washer at some point when I was younger. -.- For my GBC I have Pkmn Crystal, Mario Golf, Rayman, and Star Wars Speed Racers or summat like that. I play the first two all the time.

Re: 8-bit related online stores (25 replies, posted in General Discussion)
I'm thinking it'd be a good idea to build a list of all the different chiptune/8-bit related online stores. (Not eBay)
It doesn't say anything specifically about Gameboy development.

Attract Mode, although indie games based, sells quite a few chiptune CDs. Why shouldn't it be up there?

Re: Guitar for ChipTunes (18 replies, posted in Audio Production)
You might want to try going for a fairly bassy sound for the guitar. That way its not competing for sound with the main chip leads.. At least that's how it seems Wizwars did his with a bit of success.
Also, as long as the guitar is properly in tune, you can mess around with the sound afterwards to clean it up some. Although you'll have to do considerably less of it with nice gear.

Whoa, that's really cool. Nice job fitting it in that small area. Haha.
Hmmmm, a quick question though, any advice for what to read up on using chips like this for effects? I'm trying to see if I can build my own pedals to be used for my guitar and gameboy because i think it'll be cheaper than buying $100 pedals. Plus it'll be DIY which is always cooler. ^_^ But I've never really messed with circuitry before.

Re: Frontpage suggestions (11 replies, posted in Bugs and Requests)
I personally like having the forum as a frontpage. It means one less click for me. But maybe a little widget above the "Online Users" that would play a random song from the archive would be nice.
If there has to be a frontpage, a minimal recent posts selection along with any anouncements would be all I want. Direct and to the point.
There's only about 4 people's opinions in here though so its nothing decisive as to how the majority feels about it...

Hmmmm, I'm looking to buy NL 2.3 in order to do just this. But is there any noticible lag between the two systems? I think I saw it mentioned somewhere that this could happen.
