on a side note, has anyone ever tried to sync two gbas with one of the wireless link dongles like these?

edit for linkage

I have tried. It doesn't work.

Damn, I was thinking today of looking into this, I was about to start a thread. Is it pretty definitely not going to work, or just too much of a ball ache to set up? Possible lsdj feature?

I managed to pick up an Atari 520STE, 520STfm and monochrome monitor with mouse, cables and disks for £20 which now takes up most of my desk, and seems to justify me having so many gameboys at uni wink
I also went to a flea market in Spain last week and was wading through PSOnes and suspicious looking "NES"s.
I came across a 'Dr Boy' there as well, anyone have info? Connects to a TV apparently, could have been awesome?

haha I see wink
Okay thank you very much smile I'll make a plan, I don't really see myself pushing it hard, I'm probably more likely to sample it, so I guess I can get away with running 1or2ch at higher quality. hmm
I'll have a think and keep an eye on ebay smile

Okay sad Thanks very much.
If its going to have a noticeably worse sound quality and capabilities then I'll probably wait, unless you think is still worth is, seems like a reasonable price to me?
There was a boxed 1040STE on ebay the other week, with cubase, mouse, vga adapter and some other software.
Maybe I'll save up for something like that next time one comes around.

Cheers guys! smile

Hey guys,

I'm looking at an STE on gumtree. It's a 1040 STE but on the ad he also mentioned FM.
I asked him about it and he said "It is a STE with FM out additionally... the FM is for TV"
Can anyone explain that?

Cheers smile

Awesome smile Thank you very much. I hadn't really thought about what you write on a computer and how you'd write it on an instrument differing.

Hi guys,

I’ve got some uni essays to write, can I pick your brains as some of my research? smile

One of them is on the speed of composing changing with the introduction and advancements in technology.

Does anyone have any thoughts/experience with this? I’m kind of thinking in terms of composing on early computers/DAWs compared to like a MacPro running ProTools, or things like using hardware synths compared to VSTs.
Also does anyone compose without any tech, like scoring for orchestra and then do the same genre in software, and how does that differ in speed?

Finally, does anyone run something like Cubase 1-3 on an Atari as well as a modern DAW (ideally Cubase 6) that could possibly do a few tests on speed to enter MIDI data etc.

Cheers! smile
Jack

Ah thanks! Worked perfectly smile

Hey smile I apologise if this as been requested before, but I don't think it has..

Would it be possible to get an Apple touch icon added for bookmarking CM.O to the home screen of an iPhone etc,
It could just be an up-sized version of the favicon speech bubble added to the root if thats the least effort? wink
Its been bugging me for ages that the icon is just a random segment of the page sad

Thanks & Happy New Year heart

Thanks smile The STfm I was looking at on ebay ended pretty cheaply so I'll keep an eye out for 1040s and see how that goes. thanks very much smile

Hi guys. Sorry, very basic question sad

I've just started looking into getting an Atari ST and I was wondering what the main differences between models are.
At the moment it looks like I could get my hands on an 520 STfm from Ebay, but everyone seems to use STE's.
Is that just because STE's are better, are they significantly better to make it worth me waiting and trying to find one?

Thanks smile
