edit - I read your post now
I don't like the idea of not having exclusive control over what information/music is available through these sites....

remember that scene in almost famous where they lose that bloke after a tourdate and he subsequently ends up on acid on the roof of a partyhouse screaming 'I AM A GOLDEN GOD'?

Re: What do you carry your gear in? (91 replies, posted in General Discussion)
I found those things terrible, barely any space with all the dividers!
As for the pelican laptop overnight case, I checked out the video on pelican's site, and it looks like the compartment inside isn't padded (has no foam)
Also, with regards to coffin/flight cases and the like - i'd be very worried about taking those things to other countries, you'd get picked up by immigration as a musician in a flash. Ask anamanaguchi why this isn't something you'd want to advertise
this is a bit of a downer....
i'm specifically looking to put my akai apc40 ableton controller in whatever case - something like this might fit the bill

pelican flight case for my main live setup, though ialso collect numerous types of laptop bags/hard cases for my gear, as well as having a pedal board, small rack case & a coffin case for my video gear....im all about protecting my gear at this point
I was going to link to one of these in my original post but thought it might seem a little overkill
http://www.pelican.com/cases_detail.php?Case=1510LOC
seems like it would fit everything I use
It's on the expensive side but these things look like they'd survive a war!

Topic: What do you carry your gear in? (91 replies, posted in General Discussion)
Here's a discussion i've not read a lot in the community. Many of us travel a lot for shows, locally or abroad - and we typically travel with a lot of expensive or even rare/irreplaceable equipment.
For the past few years i've used a combination of a laptop backpack & a small crappy wheeled flight case, to lug around my laptop, gameboys & various controllers - but i'm considering investing in something a bit special that's not going to put dents + knock knobs/sliders off my gear...
What do you use, and what bags/cases would you recommend?
