Oh and I meant to ask you, Rob. Any chance that version 3 will have a pro-sound jack with a switch so that it shuts of the speaker just like the headphone jack?

PCB Mount Prosound kits version 1 and 2 have been restocked. Only 6 left of version 1, then they are obsolete for good. Price remains the same though.

Sweet!

I'd meant to ask, how is the wiring for these configured. They take the post-pot signal, right?

I just started doing all of mine pre-pot and have come to prefer it, but that's nit-picky and these are still so clean aesthetically that I wouldn't mind. I'd definitely put these in clear cases…

You can still wire it pre-pot. You install the board same as the stock board and then you hook up 2 wires for left and right to the volume pot either pre-pot or post-pot.

I mean to disrespect to Thretris but you cannot follow colors of wires(I know a lot of people are using this tutorial). You need to use a multimeter of some sort and follow the wires. They're usually marked on the PCB of the keyboard.

Price change on DMGs. Some are cheaper but some cost more than before. Sorry about this everyone! Clear and black have become impossible to get at what I charge for them!

Grey DMG (Original Grey Game Boy): $25
Play-It-Loud DMG:
Red: $25
Green: $25
Yellow: $35
Black: $45
Clear $45

Well here's what I have so far:

Maybe a little more tweaking then I'll send the files over to those who PMed me about it.
I may need to make my own cart connector as the one I got from a .lbr is for the huge DMG one and it doesn't fit right.

Very nice! I like how small you made it.

All you need is a Cynthcart cartridge. I love it to death!

Right on. Well I will probably make some adjustments. I can't promise it's all correct since I haven't built it yet but PM me with your email and I'll get the files to you at some point.

If anyone wants my eagle files I'll share them as well.

I use a $10 radio shack soldering iron with a tip that I sharpened on a dremel. Works great for SMT work.

Thanks to Matt! He got me started with Eagle. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. My tracing for PCBs this big isn't great yet but it's just a project for myself do I'm not too worried.
But my SMT soldered has gotten really good so this will be easy for me to build.

I was wondering if an SP could be transplanted into a Kitsch case...

It's entirely possible. I started on this with a regular case but got distracted and never finished it.

Very nice! I plan to build one soon but with a redesigned PCB.

So here's the PCB I came up with:

It's just about done. Just need to double check everything.

All I'd need from the Pak is the connector. Solder it in place to the board and cut a hole for the mini USB plug.

I can get some pics of the inside of the Transfer Pak later. I've already desoldered the cart connector.

In this case:

It's got the connector, the case and an out line for a new PCB. It will probably be awhile until I finish this but I've ordered most of the parts.

I use two bunt speakers if I'm just chilling and writing. Or a head phone splitter reversed. I have this cool little cable that splits two male 1/8" to one female. I use to record two Game Boy Cameras when I first got into this that way. Now I use one LSDj cart for for drums(3 tracks) and maybe the last pulse channel for bass then I use the other cart for all the melody type stuffs. But yeah. I run it through a mixer.
