i would suggest using one of these cables, no adapters needed...
without seeing it, it sounds like you may be using a stereo 3.5mm cable plugged into a mono 3.5mm female port on the adapter

since nitro missed the part of my post that was to the original question when he removed the nonsense

i recommend anything/everything off unicorn dream attack's "love bits", awkward terrible's "i feel sick", pretty much anything ever done by minusbaby... sadly most of my tastes wouldnt be appropriate for most 5 year olds (unless they also like slayer, ministry, mindflayer, etc  wink )

oh, also kids might like kodek, right? "offline synthwave" is pretty good

that chart is missing the nanoloop USB adapter, which is pretty similar in features to an arduinoboy, but no midi over DIN, just through USB (but only 9 euros).. lsdjmc2 has a few features not in arduinoboy, from what i remember... mainly the +/- nudging and learn mode, i think
edit: amazing its got the delfy box on it though, think mine is one of only two or three he made

@esc, I think I was referring to both single tracks and EPs/albums really. I've seen terrible shit on either side. I see what you mean by not even listening to the individual releases anymore, but I kind of feel this part of the problem. If we don't pay attention to what others release, how can we expect them to pay attention to what we release? Shouldn't we collectively try to raise the bar instead?

(shrug) they dont pay attention to what i release anyway....
regardless, i havent the time to listen to new tracks by artists i haven't heard of, spoken to in any context or met very often and the fact that most chip music is a form of edm or leans towards vgm kills any interest id personally have in listening

are you talking primarily about single-track uploads or full releases? i pretty much never listen to individual tracks at this point
