Hey any pig to midi users (gp2x)? I read somewhere that a script is required to start the pig to avoid midi garbage disrupting use. The only time i managed to successfully send midi from the gp2x, there was a whoile lot of clicking and flickering happening with the screen. I set the autorun script text file just as was mentioned (god knows where it was, manual wiki perhaps?) but it wouldnt work.

Has anyone else had any experience of wierd noises and screen behaviour whilst using pig>midi?

And isnt the Piggy> midi logo just the best bit of graphic design ever? Love it

ive had luck with it working both with and without the script (think the script needs the extension renamed to .gpe)
as far as the clicking, very normal... my screen doesnt flicker on either of my f200's but maybe im just lucky on that... ive noticed the clicking goes away when i remove the cable from the headphone jack for some reason, making me think its a ground loop

please use descriptive thread titles in the future, closing this thread, already have one about the music section issues here http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/8267/ … t-working/ (you probably missed it because their thread title also didn't say what the bug was until i edited it)

well if matt is can spare the time to build a few and repin, then no real need to bother low-gain on it... just was something i had talked to him about around blip since i ran into a handful of people wanting pre-built ones in nyc.. i already have two piggy-> midi boxes so im just hoping to get one repinned for caanoo and the other mounted into that cradle in the next few months

last i knew kitsch didnt want to build them, swapping those pins is kind of a pain in the ass, which would be the main reason to ask $75 for a pre-built...id also be sending him my gp2x cradle to see about getting a piggy->midi built into it, so that may become an option as well at some point

edit: that link was for wiz pinout, is caanoo the same?

not yet... but it may work by swapping the pins as they are different on the 2x..

yeah, im still waiting to hear confirmation on which pins need swapping.. low-gain said he'd be willing to do another run of pre-built piggy->midi boxes if we can get at least 10 people to preorder at $75 each, hopefully available both in caanoo & gp2x pin configurations

read that thread linked, closing this one

you know if stuff is in the wrong section, the staff moves it right? pretty sure i was the one who moved the thread george is talking about to the correct section (which is probably why there are posts about it being in the wrong place, it WAS until it got moved by the staff)

yeah, generally if i want people to know i have something new coming out, i upload a track to the music section and mention the name of release (and release date if i know it yet)

ugh, hell no upcoming releases section...thatd just be more stuff that id need to paty attention to see if it happened yet, then move to a new section (like upcoming gigs/past gigs), except this just adds something we probably don't really need

there was a little discussion among the staff about this, but dont think we ever reached any real decisions... i'd personally be for a rule stating that you can only post in the releases section once its actually available and pretty much just disallow the hype threads... it doesnt help that most of the hype ones come from people who i havent heard of before and i suspect most members would say the same
