you can use the piggy->midi and one of these to handle the steps in between the gp2x f200 and the nanoloop usb midi adapter... while gp2x has usb capabilities, it does not work directly with usb midi devices sadly

i used to have an issue every time i started a project with it sending midi, but there was an easy workaround. basically i'd have to create the project, put in a blank chain on the song screen, select the midi device on the project screen then save it & reload before midi would send properly. for what it's worth, i never needed to disable the usb functionality to get it work either. hope this helps

As I said a million times today, thanks for the music

we considered it, but in the end we really just don't have any gas left in the tank to put it together.
real life stuff and our own projects are far more pressing to all four of us at the moment

today, after much discussion, Arnie, Chad, Michael and myself decided it was time to shut down Datathrash.
thanks to all who listened, contributed releases or tracks and supported our label.
it was a good run, but we just didn't have it in us to keep moving forward at this time.

i'll mention the two that no one else will (and probably most people on this site don't even know about):

8cylinder: not only one of the noisiest, most unique artists ever to use chip hardware but he also made his own software (Sludgeon, Faderfox, Pounder, UCBN). was a huge influence on me back when i started using chip stuff in my music back in 2003. very happy that my final environmental sound collapse set in chicago was on the same bill as him

baseck: a master of using custom kits in lsdj and one of the hardest sounding artists to ever use a game boy. one half of sonic death rabbit (with wet mango). excellent musician who mastered the darker side of lsdj

neither do much chip stuff anymore, unsurprising with the way the scene has sort of focused heavily on hyper-melodic dance music over the past 8 years or so

probably my last post here cause Ive sold off all my chip gear besides a gameboy.

Please don't leave me alone with these people. :'(

don't worry, i'm still around (just posting far less often)

a lot of suggestions in here are artists who use stuff other than LSDJ, in case that part of the original question was important to you..if its not, then most of what i did as environmental sound collapse would count, so would my stuff under my new project d_strct
also noticed that no one had mentioned Wet Mango or Baseck yet, which sort of surprised me

i believe you actually don't need the ac adapter for video out, but its hard to remember back to the last time i used a gp2x cradle (blip 09 open mic pre-party)...i never had the adapter for the cradle, just ones for the gp2x itself, so its possible that using that was enough to get the video out working... i'm amazed they go for so much, i threw mine in with my gp2x when i sold them both for a combined $150 (and still had a hard time finding a taker on here)

hi,
anyone have tried lgpt in raspberry pi 2?
i tested piggy in raspberry pi b+ (raspbian wheezy) and works fine.
but when I updated to the new raspbian (jessie) version there is no sound...

later i updated debian from wheezy to jessie in my laptop and happened the same.

good to know, i'll remember to not update
is this using the built-in audio, usb audio or both?
is it possibly sending the audio out through the hdmi?

from what i know, there really aren't any diy solutions that will run LSDJ and be cheaper than the 64 Mbit EMS usb carts (at least after you factor your labor in)

catskull wrote:

That cart is rom only. That means no saving. It also means you can only use games that are 32kb or less, which is pretty much just maybe tetris.

or mGB/nanovoice/etc... regardless, not big enough for lsdj and without sav capability to really use it anyway
