yeah, he sent an email mentioning that the vinyl is delayed a few weeks... something went wrong in the manufacturing process

my last album didn't even have a song mode version, its just made for live mode.. i've always liked seeing artists perform tracks differently than on the album, especially electronic stuff since its super easy to just play the exact thing you recorded and seeing someone run/jump/dance all over stage adds nothing to it for me personally... probably not ever going to write song mode version for d_strct ever, especially since i'm cramming whole albums in a single piggy sav and that doesn't really leave a lot of room to have stuff layed out for both live mode fun and song mode stuff

ive got a bunch of stuff from artists thats probably not out there (and definitely at least one unreleased Albino Ghost Monkey track), plus live sets from a bunch of people i've done shows with over the years...i guess i havent payed enough attention to really know what that i have is rare and what isn't, at least until i run into weird stuff like finding out my folder for a release has more tracks than the official release does

yeah, from the start, the site has a policy of not taking donations from members so i wouldnt worry about it...just keep doing the good work you're doing and if you feel like giving back, buy records from artists in the scene and hit up shows smile

i have a power supply that it looks like i'll be selling, as my gp2x's sd slot no longer works.. don't have the UK plug, but that part is a seperate cable anyway, a standard one with the end that plugs into the supply looking like this

dub DOES involve "dubbing" tho! - traditionally it was process of blending multiple reggae rhythm tracks together using strong EQ cuts and sending parts of the tracks to outboard effects with the aux sends. it was a way to perform using just a mixer and really opened a lot of doors towards performing modern electronic music smile I'm not an expert on this at all but it is super interesting reading to me IMO

yeah, the name did originate that way though (especially in regards to chip stuff) the modern genre has expanded well beyond that because there are lots of new ways to achieve similar results smile

no, dub is a style of music.. king tubby is one of the better known dub artists.. its similar to reggae, but often slower and with a bunch of echo/delay involved

in case anyone prefers bandcamp, its on there too now https://dstrct.bandcamp.com/releases
well it has been for a while, i just didnt say anything

agreed.. i was in that first batch too and it took quite a long time.. think it may have been long enough that i'd moved twice while waiting for it, so that would make it over a year

and while it's not really relevant to this thread, commercial 1/8" to 5 pin din cables do exist, used for lots of smaller devices that use midi lately, like the akai mpx8
