korg seems to have made relatively small runs on their video gear, i wouldn't be surprised if there are fewer than 10,000 krossfours & kaptivators (i got my kaptivator when they were being discontinued, yet my serial number is around #300).. suspect very few of either were sold in the US since brick & mortar music stores didn't seems to want to carry them
edit: surprisingly there's a kaptivator on ebay right now for $800 or best offer, in case anyone's looking... if i could spare that kind of cash, id buy it as a backup for mine (its missing its power supply though) wink

maybe, but thats essentially a dirty video mixer... without the TBC, you get hold issues, as the video feeds don't sync properly.. interesting in its own right, but limited

of course the edirols are the right choice smile... you have some panasonics already, which are nice in their own right.. i have dreams of eventually hoarding video mixers for their different feedback characteristics, but nowhere near enough space for that right now
edit: seriously, v1's are around $200 used? i could maybe spare space for one of those especially since they have MIDI

oh, forgot about the v1 (always off my list of possiblities, since i love keying, and it doesn't have it from what i remember)

and v4/v8 is backpack/messenger bag friendly, if you dont need to fit too much else in at the same time... i squeeze mine and the kaptivator on a pedal board, relatively compact full setup that i could take on trains/buses.. should be able to squeeze v8/laptop and some smaller devices in one backpack

besides dirty video mixers, the v4/v8 is probably the smallest footprint... those time-base correction circuit either must take up a lot of space, or the guys designing video mixers have no concept of artists who bring their own gear (they seem to design it assuming its being installed in a venue)

that was a reach sas

nah, makes sense... some people dont need/want to hear a particular song whenever they want, others do.... same can go for any media really... maybe OP really needs to watch the same video a lot

Fucking hell, thanks everyone for the support and the nice words.

Next I'm going to release something even older.

i can't wait for the "My1stLSDj" 7"

you know i'll be buying one

this shit just happens sometimes..magnetic shielding helps in some cases.. so you can try one of these on the cable from the interface to your recorder and maybe even on one from mixer to interface... the place i started making music at picked up the chicago south side r&b/bs commercial hip hop station, even just on our guitar amps
in short: its RF interference, a google search will tell you far more than i can about it's exact causes...sometimes little things like the position of your cables can fix it or make it far worse

anyone got piggy running on a vita yet? from what i understand, most psp homebrew stuff works and the used prices are drifting down to the point where i'm considering one
