That's awesome...upon hearing your advice I looked up some videos on using limiters and now my songs sound a lotttt better.  I'm going to post a link to an updated version of my song

That's awesome to hear!

And thanks for the advice about the compressor/limiter...I'm very new to this, I just started like a month ago, so any advice helps!

Pretty nice stuff for a month's worth. Limiters are great because you can set them to just under 0db and nothing will peak smile

Sounds pretty cool, lots of nice little flourishes. So very very loud though (unmixed, I know). Felt like I blew my speakers when I pressed play! yikes
Looking forward to hearing a mixed version! big_smile

Hard, I like it.
I know it's unmixed, but maybe chuck a compressor/limiter on the track before export? Should make sure nothings peaking, etc.
Keep it up!

Looks like someone vomited Harajuku all over your Game Boy, I love it.

Hey there,

So this would be the first time I've put out any chipmusic, it's all from a DMG and I started working with LSDJ a few months ago now.

I feel the composition of each track is were they're lacking (and probably the mixing too). Pretty much every track, I'd come up with a cool little riff, and try and turn that into a full song, but every time I'd need to make a new verse or new section, I'd struggle to make it tie in to the original 'riff' or group of melodies. Sometimes I'd end up liking the new section so much (yet it didn't work with the original song) so I'd turn it into it's own separate song.

Is there any advice you seasoned pros can give to a newb regarding these things? (Or other issues you hear?)

I'd really appreciate it smile
