have you set the pulsetable position?

Yes oh oops, thought you said 80 instead of 88, yes 88 works.

Oh right triangle is very quiet and I wasn't aware that you had to set the pulse table for square wave.

Edit: alright I have triangle working, square still isn't doing anything

Hmm well so far I can only get saw and noise to make sounds (and I suppose some combinations of those) but square and triangle aren't doing anything hmm

So I got the guide for goattracker http://csdb.dk/getinternalfile.php/7761 … torial.pdf and I was excited. I wanted to start trying some stuff out so I looked at my notes I saved on the guide and I get no sound on my instruments (loaded a sample song and I get sound) sad Maybe I should make something cool on milkytracker first since I never did that but goattracker's all c64 and cool (famitracker and lgpt is also in my list) big_smile

The GB Boys don't pitch bend properly, they're a bit faster and out of tune, and from what I understand the wav channel is also a bit weird sometimes.
So no, they aren't really that great for LSDJ.
And you can find an original Gameboy on eBay, craigslist, or a locally owned retro game store for cheaper anyway.

Oh good point, maybe next time I have spare cash and go to Play'n'trade.

Well other than it being a little faster is that gameboy fine?

Are theses gameboys http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/gb-boy suitable for lsdj? Someone in the comments section said the processor's a bit faster, is that a huge issue? I already own a gba sp (the first kind I think, let's you turn the backlit screen on or off). I've been looking around for an original gameboy but all the ones I've found so far on amazon have an issue or two like dead pixels hmm

I wonder if klystrack would be suitable for use on a raspberry pi?

Lol alright, cool cause my webcam drivers are whacked out on linux. Heh I hear you on the girl thing big_smile

Edit: good job on those tutorials btw, explanatory and entertaining smile I wget-ed em up in a folder called klystrack manual.

n00bstar, do I have to have a working webcam to see what you're doing on the program?

Thanks, I'll check those out smile

Edit: still not sure why notes won't go on the patterns when I press the spacebar/go into edit mode.

So I finally got klystrack to work on my distro with one of the nightly build .debs. I was wondering if you guys knew any good beginner tutorials for this? Not sure if it's a bug or not but I can't seem to lay any notes down on it... So far I'm only good on sunvox and lmms, I can do a little bit on sid-wizard.

Nice, I thought I heard maybe 2 singers though? Also still wishing I knew how to play guitar big_smile I just use sunvox and sid-wizard and play by ear (bet piano lessons would help big_smile )

Nice Roaches Remain smile I found your album on the Machinae Supremacy forum big_smile Did you do that album all by yourself and what programs did you use if you don't mind me asking?

I'm using SID-Wizard to make some c64 music on the emulator vice. Only issue is I have the note off blocks and when the song plays through at the end it still makes noise when it's done hmm Example http://db.tt/H8ZuOzrQ (<- the sid file) and if you'd rather the SID-Wizard file http://db.tt/2C9Nkvx6 (just use c1541 /location/of/SID-Wizard-1.2-disk.d64 and then do write /location/of/file and you'll be able to check out the .swm file on SID-Wizard if you use vice.

Update: Well I emailed Hermit and found out I just needed to add an extra line to the pattern and it's fixed smile
