Totally started working on an xbox DMG.
The components are so conveniently sized, I can't believe I didn't think of it!

Art. I paint, sculpt, draw, and sew.
Tech. I repair game consoles, bikes, cars, motorcycles... and pretty much everything else.
Design. I have a garage full of amazing tools at my disposal, so I design and build all manner of stuff for people.

Business is slow, so I'm incredibly poor right now.

As far as balanced constructive criticism... chipmusic.org seems to be a pretty good place for that.

Oh Yeah.
I can criticize the hell out of you. wink
JK, I'm only an asshole roughly 19.3% of the time.

So, I poured cynthcart onto an eprom, and I soldered it to a board (following some convoluted instructions from the outerwebs) and I can't get the damn thing to boot.
The eprom I'm using is a M27C64A.
Any insight into what the hell I'm doing wrong would be incredibly helpful.

This was my third attempt at this (5 days ago).

I don't really like the grape case.
It was an experiment, and the results were... not really to my taste.

Are you planning on painting the white keys? I don't really see them fitting as well if they stay white/grey.

LOL! Nice.
Haven't seen Evangelion in a minute.

Anyway; No. I'm not planning on painting the keys. I think the brown and gray will be an excellent color combo for the period style paintwork I've given it.
As soon as I perfect my current method of lettering keys, I was thinking about styling a C64c like an old editing keyboard... just for shits and giggles.

I like that idea too.
Gonna take pictures of the checker board layout first smile

Looking for ones in the US.
International shipping bites. It's expensive, and it takes too long.

Excellent.
I have 3-4 builds that need this.

This might be a bit difficult, but you could try to make it 2 modules. The DMG with you standard mods, and then a connector on the bottom where you could stick it in the dock and get more features (arduinoboy, clock speed altering, ps2 port, video out,...) . Kinda like that Synthboy+ kickstarter thingie. Since you seem to have a bigger base, you could stick more mods in there.

Also, some other mods you could do:

Midi
Super Gameboy CPU
Video out
Amplified speaker + replace the speaker with a better quality one
Synth controls
Gameboy Pocket screen in a DMG

Really not interested in making a plug-in. I like building crazy one-off hardware.
Video out is a HUGE pain in the ass.
Everything else seems pretty straight forward.

That's a good start. Need to research the arduinoboy phenomenon a little bit (my only real experience with arduino is robot related).

Well, that's no help.
