Come on now. He didn't try anything, just goes onto a music-related forum to post about his gaming issues for others to solve his problems. He didn't do anything to solve the problem himself. He didn't look in the obscurely named "save" folder or even check out the FAQ from the website or read the documentation where it's all clearly explained. I draw a line between helping people who need help, and doing the work for him. I did tell him where to look for the answer didn't I? That's as much help as he deserves for being so lazy. smile

It's the first fucking thing addressed in the FAQ on the website. You are retarded.

I was waiting for friends at a metro station and they were late.  So I sat down to play some guitar to pass the time. I made a point of getting out of the way to make sure people wouldn't think I was busking and was playing for myself. And some old dude just walked by and threw two dollars at me with a look on his face that said "fucking wasted youth, here, go buy yourself some crack marijuana pipe cocaine". He didn't say anything but I stuttered some kind of awkward 'thank you' not sure how I should handle this hah.

The only things that were ever required to make decent music are patience and a good set of ears.

Well then you should totally review me! Nobody listens to my shit and I never get a like on any facebook post.

Of course that might also mostly be due to the fact I'm a jerk to most people most of the time. But hey.. that's fucking rock and roll man.

None of that popular chipmusic stuff basically.

HAhaha. Yeah fuck those million dollar bands that tour the world and do cocaine off the tits of young Japanese sex slaves. Chiptune is too mainstream man. Something about a foot on a coffin.

lol @ "4mat style"

That's how we all did it back then wink And that's how I do a lot of my tones in klystrack too.

As far as I've seen.. every attempt at a chiptune vlog / show / movie / trilogy / saga / live action role playing game / epic space conquest with monkeys has died fairly quickly. I think most people don't realize the amount of effort and time needed to produce a decent looking, well researched show and keep the new episodes pumping out of a regular schedule. It's a ton of work really.

We're all busy trying to get on Jimmy Fallon right now.  tongue

Yeah it's fucking brilliant. I don't know if you ever used old school art software like Deluxe Paint back in the 90s, but this is pretty much the natural evolution of it. It's also 100% free, open source, and constantly updated. I know a few people who use this almost exclusively over anything else.

[elitist] Just like you don't do chiptunes in Ableton if you want it to sound authentic, you don't pixel push in Photoshop. Real men use GrafX2. [/elitist]

Why google stuff when you can let others do it for you? Outsourcing for the winz.

I find ChipFlip to be very interesting and well written. It's not strictly about chip music, but it's always a good read.

I also have a small blog, but that's mainly for my own music, some opinionated rants, and klystrack tutorials. It's been a bit inactive lately since I am a bit busy preparing a long-ass bike trip and finishing up my album which is due in the second half of next month. But I'll get back to it when I have more time.

lol where the hell are you coming from with this? every single post so far has said they're great. So what now? Because we all agree they're good at what they're doing and deserve the attention they get, we shouldn't talk about it?

Grow the fuck up.

seems like its time to put the old "but chiptune is too niche so i shouldnt try" chestnut to bed at the very least. hard work, talent and a good sound win out every single time. pete and co are an inspiration.

Yeah, only Anamanaguchi is a pretty open sort of chiptune. A lot of chiptunes style still are a niche. But I guess Anamanaguchi did a good job.

Agreed. They're by far the most accessible product of the scene, and each new release is a little less chiptuney than the one before it. Not taking anything away from them, they're great and I really enjoy the band, but let's not pretend that this is going to affect a lot of us who are solidly entrenched in the bottom half of 80s technology smile

You might want to look into the Volca series from Korg. Their Volca Beats sounds pretty damn decent and they're cheap.

edit: aaaaand I just realized it was said before. haha oh well.
