Really? I always heard Google was like coder-heaven with lots of idle time. Meh, here I am being naive again.

...

Oh god, there is no such thing as coder-heaven, right? It's all a lie sad

What do I have to do to get employed by Google? I wish I had that much time on hand at work. tongue

To be honest, the zigzag layout of the table is kinda bothersome to read. A simple table would be a bit quicker to look things up.

I made these for easier guitar chord-->tracker arps some time ago:

From 1st
|---|---|-0-|---|---|
|-3-|---|-5-|---|-7-|
|---|---|-A-|---|-C-|
|---|---|-3-|---|-5-|
|---|---|-7-|---|---|
|-A-|---|-0-|---|---|

From 2nd
|---|---|-7-|---|---|
|---|---|-0-|---|---|
|---|-4-|-5-|---|-7-|
|---|---|-A-|---|-C-|
|-C-|---|-2-|---|-4-|
|-5-|---|-7-|---|---|

From 3rd
|---|---|---|---|---|
|-7-|---|---|---|---|
|-0-|---|---|-3-|---|
|---|---|-7-|---|---|
|---|-A-|---|-C-|---|
|-2-|-3-|---|-5-|---|

I guess they could be a bit more decluttered, especially the one from 2nd string because I wanted it to cover the big and small barré

On a related note, I saw the Legacy trailer yesterday and I'm pretty hyped now. There's much they can mess up (the original Tron is a childhood classic for me, sequels of those tend to be dissappointing no matter what), but the one thing I can't agree on straight away is getting Daft Punk to do the soundtrack. I'd have loved to have a 2011 Wendy Carlos Tron OST.

The sound is so over-saturated these days that even the best new stuff doesn't really stand out anymore, and they're becoming the 'autotune' of chipmusic in a way.  I'm just surprised far more people aren't swapping or augmenting their sound with other devices to get away from that problem, but then maybe I'm wrong in thinking there is a problem.

I'd attribute that to a combination of popularity and availability. For those picking up chipmusic in the third wave, it's very likely that they were inspired to do so by someone using a GB or NES, as that was the choice of the most popular acts. Also, GBs are a bit more readily available (and cheaper) than a CPC, Atari, C64 or Amiga, plus they have the portability bonus. FamiTracker is a little easier to understand than DIY waveform trackers like Milky/FT2, AT2 (FM synthesis is not really beginner friendly) and most other hardware native trackers.
I was very excited when the FM feature for Nanoloop appeared, because it opened up plenty new soundscapes for the GB. I'd love to see that make a jump into LSDJ, as that seems to be the more popular choice among users.

I agree somewhat on the oversaturation of Nintendo stuff, especially GB music has become less and less attractive for me, and tracks I can enjoy are few and far between. It's still the most popular though, and unless that shifts people are going to use it.

lol I actually put the MC Hammer one in to see who would make a comment like that. You gain 20 karma points!

Yeah, Poison is one of the genre breakers. The name may be retroactive, because all people associate R&B with these days is terrible diva yodel.

It was a kinda very implicit way of asking people to share/recommend some NJS, has been done for other styles of music here before I think?

Argh, so close. I usually suck at navigation, so I'm happy I got this close finding a flat in Tokyo with just that description. I'd link my window but germany is currently making a stink about streetview, so I can't.
