With my samples I don't really do too much mastering and I record it in audacity so there will be a bit of graininess to it if that's what you mean. I only do an official mastering job in Logic when the song is complete. But thanks for letting me know!

Yah you know, it could be that sure.

I can also add that it does come through better on headphones, so maybe the mastering(and lackthereof) is the culprit to my ears specifically. Looking forward to seeing it finished. smile

Peace heart

That's a cool tune man.

The intro part (at least in that preview) is kinda jarring in a way. It's a bit noisy or maybe it's the mixing that needs some further work?
It's just like the first thing I thought when I heard it, it was like "wow, that's harsh" (compared to the rest)... ^^

But the rest I think is just peachy heart

I've done two gameboys with ASM cases... The only thing I noticed is that the cases of course don't have threaded holes, they get that way by first screwing stuff in. That's it... Can't imagine a lot more if it isn't something stuck in the way.
Do the screws actually get tight? Cuz I stripped a few screwholes on a kitsch bent case a while ago, the screws just spun endlessly without ever tightening. So can't really imagine that they are stripped either.... Hmmmm.

Going by what single tune I've probably listened to the most I'd say it's Alex Wiklund's "Electrified". That song just rocks everything. smile

I'm really not the right person to say this because I frequently do this myself, but I'd say: try to keep the melodies more "breathable"... Like, you should be able to hum or whistle your melodies effortlessly. Therefore if the melody has very rapid changing notes you might want to consider making it more spaced sort of. Otherwise they sounded pretty OK. smile
