spring cleaning!

i came across a few AceKard 2i carts, price is $20 a piece.  I won't stock these, I just ended up with a bulk a while ago and never got rid of them...

IMPORTANT!!!  please add the AceKard AND shipping you wish from the SAME product link here: http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/utilities

so, if you want a AceKard 2i, please add it AND the shipping you'd like to your basket for checkout.  once these are gone, they're gone.

these are real AceKards, made by acekard, I got them a while ago.  they're good carts, compatible up to DSi.

features (quoted from box):
-- perfect compatibility.  no need to convert, no need to flash!
-- save file is written directly to MicroSD card.  no need to manually select save file size, no data loss.
-- automatic DLDI patching.  run homebrew programs without converting.
-- support soft-reset, download play and WiFi gaming!
-- support SDHC MicroSD card.  virtually unlimited storage size!
-- support any brand MicroSD, with no slowdown!
-- support Action Replay cheats.  Built-in Editor!
-- lowpower consumption for longer operational time!

thanks for your time...

ah, yeah.  i knew you meant doing the mod, i thought you meant doing clear shoulder buttons so they could be backlit for whatever purpose the user wished (tempo visualization, etc).

re: gba mods, have you thought of offering backlit and shoulder -> start select button mods?

i've thought quite heavily about this, doing the molds for gba parts is a bit bigger deal than a basic dmg or pocket set...  the shoulder buttons would be a better first step just by themselves, i'm glad you brought that up, i was curious if it'd be a worthwhile thing to consider (nice knowing someone thinks like that).

thought i would share a (very soon to be released) new product.

i printed this out on my crappy $15 inkjet.

more info soon.  print-your-own screen covers!

this is very cool, i grew up playing logo like crazy, learning games can be pretty great.  its cool how you've incorporated the formulas into the gameplay just from what i've seen...

based on the pic (not home, i'll double check though), the specs are:

47uF, get one rated for 10V or 6V if you find one.

47uF is the important bit, just make sure the cap is rated for 6V or higher...  but yeah, thats the value you need.

the type of capacitor is aluminum electrolytic, 47uF, 6V or higher.  the only unknown variable is the size, take the one that fell off into radioshack with you for a size comparison.  some are shorter/fatter, others are made thinner/longer

*** this type of capacitor has a + and a - leg.  check the PCB and it should be marked, the plastic insulating material on the capacitor will be marked which leg is which, like a battery sort of.

ok, cool.

the PCB may be marked (R1, R2, etc).  if its marked thats the info i need, i'll look though but prolly won't respond until you double check.  just to make sure no one is confused.  it could even be a capacitor (similarly sized packages, almost identical), but that probably wouldn't make your cart stop working outright if its a smaller resistor-sized one (more than likely a decoupling cap).

yeah, just let us know, i (or someone) will take a look and let you know the value if the part is marked.

there is the chance you've had memory loss, if the battery power is disrupted.  the bleepbloop cart's R1 snaps off a lot when people open the case, this will cause memory loss on that device.  the case slides right over it, unless you know to look for it you'll take it right off...  hopefully the EMS cart doesn't do the same.  (this is the first i've heard of an EMS having one pop off)

there isn't one out there.  its not an open design at all...

which resistor?  i'll take a look and read the code off another if they're marked...

individually some of the parts needed for a device like this are expensive.  not to mention the man hours put into making them work together.

geometric explosions like this in islamic artwork have always been so interesting to me (check out the inlay on the taj mahal, for another example, and a long way from zellij in morocco.  it features the flowers which were described in heaven, and geometry).  having a prohibition within the religion on the human form in art really resulted in amazing workarounds to this.

very cool.

if anyone is going to try this (please share), you should check out the Rub el Hizb first.  it will help set up your template.

^ alternatively, you could use a midi patchbay software to reroute the MIDI channels to your preferences, then save the patch for future use

you can also put paint that floats (oil-based) in water and make patterns in the paint, and dip objects into it.  the object will pick up the paint on top...

its tricky.

glad this got bumped....

if anyone picked one up at blip, feel free to talk about it here....

very cool, its about time this was tackled!

you can show images directly in your post with this bit of code:

the only thing i would suggest glancing at it is a much more extended board with a prototyping area/breadboard place.  something along those lines.  but, thats just for my own nefarious purposes, it might be really annoying to other people.  then again, since this is a shield people may already anticipate a certain element of DIY-ness and benefit from some tinkering room
