hi everyone,

64M USB Smart Cards are restocked: http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/usb-64m-smart-card

enjoy, and keep chipping!

thanks!

the old carts were on EMS 32M smart carts.  the carts to which you refer (the emulator carts) i'm guessing are the 64M smart carts, made by the same company.

you'd get the same effect if you got a cart and had someone else flash it for you, like the vendor.  this would bypass any issues with needing to plug it in.  apart from making backups, which is something the 32M carts will do ONLY with the EMS Transferrer devices.

tracking down an original cart will get you a 32M cart, with a very early version of LSDJ on it.

probably not worth it...  you wont escape the issues you fear.  instead, you'll have a non-USB (still) EMS-brand very early version of LSDJ cart, which you can't make backups from UNLESS you've got a Transferrer device which REQUIRES your computer to have a parallel port...  and then you're back to the issue of using the software (different drivers but same essential thing).

hey everybody!

hurry! a lone krikzz super-everdrive (USB) cartridge arrived today and is in the shop.

http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/super-everdrive

in other news, how about a 25% off sale on the one-of-a-kind, machine- and hand-cast buttons for the next week wink

well, let's make that 33% off on the hand-cast ones, since the price on them was previously dropped anyways...

Great kit! I guess it might work with pockets also?

yeah.  it will.

for colors the two speeds would be half speed, and quarter speed.  i'm guessing quarter speed will crash the thing, i haven't actually tried...

pocket is fine though.  the pcb dimensions are listed, its super tiny.  fits easily, a little double-sided tape works great for holding it in place.

and thanks wink

hey everybody -

new product to announce: http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/easy_clk

pretty basic, this allows you to change the DMG from running at normal speed to half speed in the middle of gameplay, without crashing the console. the kit, for now, comes bare-bones and without a switch of any sort. saves money on the kit's cost, and let's you customize the installation. the switch type needed is SPDT. use your imagination, from toggle to pushbutton to body contacts... arduino control even with some spare pins from your arduinoboy's uC wink

you can read more in the product description. its very small, and easily adaptable to other consoles that use crystal oscillators with similar frequencies as that of the DMG's.

documentation coming soon. very very easy to install and use. great beginner electronics project!

till next time, keep chipping, in half speed!

make sure you are using the software for the transferrer II and not the transferrer I.  they are similarly named.

thats all i can think of...

well, this is probably obvious, but the transferrer II has a three-way switch on the side.  one is off, one is for GB, the other for GBA.  i forget the order.  make sure you've switched it to the correct spot.

if the sticker on the side is missing, maybe don't trust what is imprinted on the plastic next to this switch.  i remember mine being printed backwards.

its for the demo vision units that used to be in stores for gameplay on tvs.

it requires the demo vision unit itself, it won't work on its own (well, won't display through a tv at least).

hey everybody -

got these in the mail today, and finally got done editing the page:

http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/everdrive-64

krikzz has put out yet another amazing flash cart, this time for the n64 console.  this current batch has the CIC chip for NTSC systems preinstalled, and they are all the +USB models.  all the goodies for NTSC people...   (PAL will come if/when the CIC chips become available in any quantity, we hope)

till next time, keep chipping!

hey everybody!

we've changed our discount code policy as well as the paypal fee, in response to changes made with our shopping cart system (which are outside our control).

here we go:

-- all previously issued codes will be honored, under the same conditions with which they were issued (they still expire after a year)
-- discount codes will now only be issued randomly and at our discretion, not following each order
-- the paypal 4% fee is eliminated!  for everyone.  wink

due to the changes made with bigcartel yesterday re: their code system, our previous discounting system no longer works.  sorry for the inconvenience, but like I said all previously issued codes will still be honored under the same terms as they were issued.

*if you are unfamiliar with our previous system, just ignore the bits of this email that don't apply

basically, we've ditched the paypal fee and have moved to a normal discount code approach.  no individualized ones anymore wink
