Whoops I just realized I wrote "Saturday" when it's actually Friday... don't know why I did that, but I'm sorry if I confused anyone. January 7th is most definitely a Friday and there's nothing I can do to change that!

sign off and make some nintendocore

If you don't know what Braid is you must not play very many video games.

I'll be there. You better play my favorites!

You have favorites? I don't think you need to worry, in 30 minutes I'll be done with my entire library and then I'm just gonna make awkward smalltalk until my set is over.

Hello everyone, I'll be playing my first live show on Friday, January 7th 2011 in New York City!

So here's the deal... it's not a chip night; I'll be the only one playing anything chip-related, and even at that, half my set will be KORG DS10 and the other half will be non-chip Ableton Live. If you're still interested, read on...

There will be 5 acts and I'll be going on right in the middle at 10:15 to do a 35 min set. The venue is 21+ and there's a $10 cover. The full address is Cin-M-Art Space, 43 Murray Street (between West Broadway & Church), Manhattan. If you plan to come, I've got some presale tickets, so please email me: contact[at]mappdev.com

Anyway, it should be a fun night so come on out and let's party smile

Ugh. New goal: convince these blowhards that Nintendocore and Chiptune are not the same thing. Should take another 10 years.

Yeah okay I'll use a demo smile

OK I'm closing this, the promoter found some people to play so no more availability.

It's pretty cool, but yeah, we generally discourage posting videogame remixes around these parts since there's already a good strong community for that (OC) and this is more for making original sounds using chip hardware (even if the songs are not original).

Anyway, I would definitely suggest that you try out different chip music programs if you want to get into making music this way, via emulators, before buying anything. As for midines, it's still possible to get it, but there are also some other tracker programs in the works for NES which might be worth checking out. When it comes to playing live, though, it's easier to play gameboys than NES decks. Also it's worth checking out the newer programs on the DS, like cartridges (DS10, M01), DSiWare (Rytmik, Rhythm Core Alpha), and homebrew (Tonesynth). AND, there's nothing wrong with making fakebit in your favorite DAW, using VSTs like Plogue Chipsounds and Chip32.

So, my point is, there are lots of options!

Can I do some fakebit remixes, like, not in LSDJ? Just point me to some MP3s or WAVs.

I'm sending my stuff over! Don't count me out! I even know someone who graduated from Rowan smile

I've listened to the soundtrack a bunch of times and I know what song I want to remix, just haven't had the time to do it.
