but arent there some gameboy multicarts etc who can also be rewritten? why shouldnt it be the case for gba?
if possible someone like kitsch could do this and sell things like shitwave on gba carts for very low prices

on alibaba you can buy those fake gba games for like 3$ each, being obviously fake.
are those cartridges reprogrammable?
if yes, on could get a gba usb programmer and put stuff like lsdj etc on it, right?

i am curious how much used gameboys cost in your area/country.
here in germany / niedersachsen, most gameboys are quite expensive because the used video games shops quickly hunt down good deals and sell the used ones for way too much.
a used DMG here is about 10€, in bad condition.
used gameboy pockets are the same, but more wider available.
the gameboy colors start at 20€ (?!), again when in bad condition.
all those prices are easily doubled or tripled when the condition is slightly better.
it really upsets me that i have to spend so much for a gameboy color... and i really need one because of pocket music color <.<
what are your local prices?

whoops ._.
but maybe theres a chip with enough space... if not, then its at least useful for other music programs i hope

well, the FM18W08 has 8x32k, so 256k shouldnt be a problem, unless the gameboy cart only can address one of the banks. if thats the case, well have to look for a 1x128k or more.

well there are other types of sram chips with more memory. so basically, if you could find one with lots of space that fits for an ems cart, you could make multiple lsdj saves!
but idk about the sram of the drag n derp cart, so it may not be rentable as youll spend about the same money on the mod.

i quickly checked google to find replace sram without battery need for the ems cart... there seem to be some but they all start at 25$ per piece <.<
and considering that its not guaranteed that it works you may better get a drag n derp cart for a few more dollars.
so ill just keep backing up my ems cart save

I'm sure we don't need to deepen this conversation further.
This thread is not about getting a drag n derp cart, but about modifying existing carts to hold saves longer/more secure.

Hm, but in some games you needs to press 4 buttons at once...
Mario land 2 for example if you want to do a high jump (a+up) while running (b+right or left). So I think ill rather go with 8 diodes
