What are you after for trade? I'm definitely interested. Do you have a cart reader?

PM me photos of the BB cart if you wouldn't mind?

In regards to that backlight. I also just bought a Sapphire v4 from nonelectronics and it has an unusual bi-vert that I haven't seen before - exactly the same as yours does! Not sure if it's meant to or...

My bad, I meant horizontal lines that can be seen in the picture.

Usually horizontal lines are caused by the side ribbon connector. However, in this case, the problem was the ribbon cable connecting the front and back PCBs together.

Do the vertical lines that can be seen in the first picture are due to a bad ribbon cable but the one that connects both PCB together?, or due to the ribbon cable at the side of the LCD, the fragile one?

Vertical lines are a problem with the ribbon cable that is connected to the bottom-side of the LCD glass.

Not sure if this is the right section to post this in but it's the closest i could see.
I've organised my collection of music from iamerror / monomate and the other musical entities that Peter Bunke (peet) has taken part in across the past ~7 or so years. I figured i'd chuck them into a torrent for others to enjoy!

Here's the link to the .torrent file! He's aware of (and totally cool with) the fact that i've made this torrent. Feel free to download and share around!

Hope you enjoy!

you might find it less frustrating if you do each point one by one, with a basic conical tip.

I can definitely see what you mean. I've ordered one to see how it works! I've got a bunch of front PCBs i still need to repair so that's going to be an invaluable tool for that!

was just poking about and ran across this guy: http://www.ebay.com/itm/30W-Soldering-I … mp;vxp=mtr

its 10% off for the next some hours, and free first class shipping in USA.

If it weren't from the US then i'd probably buy that iron that you posted too! But it'd end up costing me close to $35 with shipping and whatnot! I can't wait till i'm back over there again!

they work ok.

Ordered and paid for! Now for the wait on shipping u.u

I'm after all kinds of original gameboy games (for the right price).
In particular, i'm after:
Pokemon Red
Pokemon Blue
Pokemon Silver
Game Gallery 1 & 2
Any Bleep Bloop cart (I have a cartridge case that won't fit my EMS cart and I really want to use it tongue)

I have a few things to offer!
Original DMG consoles
Sony PSP 3000 series (Teal LBP special edition)
Huge amount of replacement buttons / faceplates / back PCB's for original DMG.
Broken NDS/NDS lite consoles.

I'm in Australia so shipping needs to be taken into consideration! Let me know and i'll find out prices!

Today I tried to solder IDE cable (its 21 wires) to back board. I made it in 2nd try. The thing is you have to strip as few insulation as you can and them tin wires. After that you align them properly, apply pressure, hot soldering iron and viola.

Probably could also be done on front pcb if there were no plastic screen holder.

Holy shit, you are a god!
I came along this and am going to buy it within the week. Biggest problem that's stopping me attempting it at the moment is my lack of a wire-stripper. I should probably invest in one!

If you read the DMG build blog thread, there's an extensive list of different mods that are available for a DMG. I think that's what 9-heart was referring to.

-li po rechargeable battery

-pro sound 3.5mm and rca
-variable overclock
-pitch bend (dunno how yet though)
-keyboard plug (usb or ps2)
-nes controller plug (simple rewiring, ill use a megadrive cable and a d-sub plug)

With all of those mods i doubt you'll be able to fit in a rechargeable LI PO battery. Unless you maybe stuck it in where the AA batteries usually sit? You could perhaps even cut the whole battery compartment out but leave enough so that the battery cover still sits in there?

As for the mods, i'm fairly certain "Variable Overclock" and "Pitch Bend" are basically the same thing. Pitch bending just uses a potentiometer to change the clock speed as opposed to having a static clock speed. I'd recommend the Variable Clock v4 from thursdaycustoms. That'll give you some space for other things. You can fit RCA plugs on the bottom right side of the back PCB if you drill a bit out of the battery compartment inside (but if you're getting rid of it for the above mod then you won't have to.

You can fit both a 3.5mm jack and a 6.5mm jack in a DMG if you move the skinny bit of PCB from the left to the right of the back plate (Just desolder the existing wires and re-solder longer ones - note down the order of the connected wires before you desolder them!). Check out @joeteach on instagram to see what i mean.

Not sure about many other mods you can do without an arduinoboy. Check out my external variable clock mod in the Circuit Bending section in the forums. Might be of interest.

What do you mean by this?! Is it really that expensive?

(don't mean to be a spoiler, but the sample for approval for that style battery cover is arriving any day (tmrw supposedly) and then its a run of them to match the PIL colors... sorry!  but do them too if you want, just wanted to be upfront about it so you don't drop monies into something and regret it afterwards (since you're looking for unique, niche type things)).

with that being said......  if you were ever wanting to get into making a mold or whatnot, loomis and I have done a custom batt cover project together and i'd love to do more collaborative projects like that so hit me up!  or other things.

I think i have a man-crush on you kitsch.
So looking forward to this!
