Great stuff, proud to be a part of this.

Sorry to say but the vocals on this record are awful. And the lead in Space Cake is painfully high when listening with my earplugs.

I think the thing we should focus on here is that there are barely any chip producers who call themselves DJ

Well, that's a good thing right? Unless they are actually DJ-ing. big_smile

I have nothing against DJs, I think it's a fun and important part of music culture.  I also don't write off entirely the skillsets used by some DJs; some of them are doing very musical and technical stuff.  However, most of DJing is song selection and that's not the same thing as writing music.

That said, I don't call myself a DJ.

Agreed. Especially DJ's that do modern types of techno, house, minimal. It's very much a choice of good records and timing which does the job, not so much the technique or skills to mix a 127bpm 4/4 track in to another 127bpm 4/4 track. No offense to those who DJ really but it's a lot different than actually writing music.

I do not, although people tend to think I do when I play live.

I always explain to them that our xyce shows are more of an artist showcase rather than a DJ set. We play our songs. Our tempo's, beats and sounds are so different from each other that mixing them with an Atari, PC and Amiga is one hell of a job.

I know Chris Hülsbeck wrote his own sort of tracker before the word 'tracker' even existed in that context. He used it to make music back in the days. Ofcourse mostly still programming sounds but as a tracker predecessor he did a pretty good job.

Can now be listened to on Spotify as well!

You could try MusicMon 2.5e. It lets you 'draw' sounds in a little window which you can tweak by setting some parameters and stuff.

Or you could import mods you like and try tweaking instruments in those mods. Learn their structure and then try making your own.

I can't load mods in 2.5e. I click Load, click mod and nothing happens... :S

With mods I ment Atari modules .snd files.

Well, we made a mistake to close the set with a more downtempo song, which people found a bit strange after some uptempo songs.

Wasn't very crouded but a fun venue in my own hometown. :-)

Haha, I don't recognize any name. big_smile

I like legacy the most because of it's nice main melody. Pretty much all other tracks got me thinking 'where is this going?', which I'm not really a fan of.

And kudos for the artwork, awesome graphics!
