Hey, I just released the stems for a track I wrote a few months ago titled "Beautiful Misguidance"
This may or may not appeal to most of you but the offer is there.
The download contains a MIDI file of the main melody and chords if you don't like the audio stems.

Here is the link, the downloads only 50mb or so, not tragic.

Thanks

Ah, Totally worth it though, APRA is free here in Aus, What about BMI, As far as I know they offer the same features as ASCAP.

Personally I pay the $50, If you gig a lot that is a great investment

I don't understand the "dont want to pay someone else to try and get paid myself" < Are you talking royalties or engineers.

And even if it is petty money, Its better in your pocket than someone else's, The beauty of it is, YOU don't have to perform, Bit different with chip but in other genres, if I write a melody, register it with APRA, Then Joe Blow down the street performs, I still get paid.

I can't really talk about ASCAP, But APRA, Any one could register, I know there is a 3 year old registered, Its a cute story for another time but yeah. And yeah your right, thats what I was saying with the Bigger Crowds Bigger Cheques.

But seriously man, you may aswell register with them, Whats the worst that can happen, You get a Cheque for $5. Theres a free meal basically.

royalties? never been paid any of those in the past 12+ years. literally gigs with 6 acts, 50+ attendees and after venue, soundguy and doorgirl get their cuts, they say theyve got $37 for the acts to split.. sometimes nothing at all

If your not being paid royalties, its your own fault, provided your music is original, register with a collection agency, Like APRA for copyright Or PPCA for Phonograph here in Australia, I think you BMI & ASCAP in the US (Look Up, Im Not entirely Sure), Every quarter or 6 months or so, You fill in a Live Performance return with all the shows you played and once that is verified, KA-CHING. Royalty payments.

The bigger the performance the bigger the check.

Hope that helps you get some dosh. smile

i wish the soundguys were underpaid in chicago... most gigs that i've played here, they made more than all the artists got combined

Sound guy doesn't get paid royalties like most live performers do, provided the fill in a live performance return with their collection society

I have engineered few live gigs, never worked on a chip show, You have to keep in mind, GENERALLY SPEAKING on a 16 channel mixer, On a 24 channel mixer, Only the last to channels are "Stereo Channels" I.E 15 & 16 are grouped, 15 L 16 R, So if wasn't familiar with your music or didn't consider that a GameBoy or whatever was a Stereo signal, And you gave me a Balanced TRS (Stereo Lead) I would Still chuck in mono. I wouldn't even take it into consideration, considering 90% of the cables I own and the people I worked with are Stereo, Balanced cables, And really 90% of Instruments are Mono, Guitars, Bass, Violins (With Pickups) Drums, Even a stereo pair is just dual mono one pan left one pan right.

Now, If you do say to the sound guy, Hey this is a stereo signal, then it is his responsibility, But if you just toss him a balanced lead, 9/10 times its gunna be mono.

If this is completely irrelevant, Sorry I only read half the other posts. My bad

Virtual Box is the tits. If you can't afford Windows just run Linux, Although that is just as difficult.

Myself not so much natural reverb, I don't have a nice sounding room. However I have re-amped my GB-Boy a few times, Nothing to serious, Just because I am an audio-nerd. I just took the output of my GB-Boy, Into a "Air-Guitar Rocker" toy amps and then close miced the amp.

I have also built a small "plate" reverb unit. Haven't used it with anything chip related yet.

I would say from my point of view here in sydney. $40 is average. There is only 2 Game stores in the whole state that I can think of that would carry them, and even then, the day they are trader is the day they are sold. Other than that its just ebay, gumtree or hock/pawn stores.

Hey whats up chipper and chipettes.

I just got LGPT, And I am currently in the process of sampling a whole bunch of things to import into LGPT:

Atari Punk Console (Stepped Tone Generator)
LDSJ (Running On GB Boy)
Korg DS-10
Electroplankton
Korg Monotron
Korg Monotron Delay
Bliptronic 5000

As well as some stuff made in Reason 7:

Dubstep Bass, Womps, Growls
House Stabs
Ambiences
Synths Lines

and some 808 styles Samples from Rebirth 338

Would any of you guys be interested in having these for your self? If so Ill just chuck them up on my website. Obviously your not limited to just using them in LGPT, And I'll put them in individual kits so you can just get what you want.

Also just a warning, Your not going to get the "FULL LSDJ EXPERIENCE" or what ever by downloading these kits, Just a bunch of Blips and Bloops.

But yeah, I have got some kits uploaded @ http://swebsmusic.com/downloads/

But these will be more hits and stuff for LGPT and other programs like that.

If you have any ideas on stuff I should/ Could sample let me know.

Yeah, I have timbral chromesthesia, For me nothing happens in real time though, its only when I imagine the particular sounds, Like when I hear the sound in my head, I can recall a colour.

A few people have a had a stab at diagnosing me properly. I have never found it a problem and until probably a month and a half ago I thought everyone had it.

The only thing I find difficult is when working in a DAW, and the person I am working with has Coloured the tracks. Cause when I go to EQ a heavy guitar in my head I am thinking Dark Red but I staring at a bright Green. That just confuses me, I have kind of learnt to deal with that by not every sound having different colours. In my Reason 7 Rack, All my instrument tracks are Green, All my Audio tracks are Purple, All my Sampled Loops/ Breaks are Red and all my Drums are a mellow Blue.

And when I work in Logic, Everything is the Default Blue.

For me, Heavy Guitars, Heavy Synth Bass' = Dark Red, Prog House style Plucking = Orange  808 Snares = Grey, Acoustic Guitars = Light Orange. Stuff like that.

And I can kind of get very disoriented when people overuse those "Psycho-Acoustic" Effects if that makes sense.

Hey thank you very much for the kind words, And thanks for finding that other post, I have just posted a comment over their.

I really appreciate it.
