Ok nothing wrong there then.

Yes I do know of many people who illegally download from those sites, they say they have no problems with the roms from there or having them work with certain Slot 1 "homebrew" devices  wink

Well yes, you can use them in conjuction with each other, and you can boot the ez flash from the R4i also, which is my own personal setup.

And uhhh, this isn't what's happening to you guys by chance is it?

If it is then my first suspicion was correct and you have fake cards.

Hmm that is extremely strange, you know all the flash cards are all designed pretty much solely for the purpose of playing pirated games, home brew support is there but is secondary, usually only so we can get away with selling them as "home brew" devices.

Out of curiosity what type of DS do you have and if a DSi or later on which firmware?
Also where are you downloading your roms?

I'm actually working on such a flasher project, which I've mentioned here and there in the passing, and probably should mention more often. It will be all new code, reprogrammable, cross platform compatible and of course, come with a newly-made cart slot. I realize it's all words until you see it in action, but you'll see.

I do remember you mentioning it a few times before and because of that I wasn't sure about making this, as I don't want to tread on any toes.
Either way I'll be assembling the first batch in about two weeks and go from there I guess.

Pricing will be about $38.50 AUD ($36.57 USD) + P&H fully assembled.

Price might vary slightly before I start selling, but I'm aiming for below the $40 AUD ($37.98 USD) mark

I have a spare set of dies being made for the cart connectors too, so I'll keep them for many years into the future.

Putting all of my money on this new cart looking like the Nanoloop 1.6 cart.

Ok so I might have given you a bump steer saying that it will "pair" with the flasher, I meant I will do a bundle with them together, but you won't actually need the flasher to use the cart.

Know that this will be a cart, designed for games AND chip'n. Think drag drop, large capacity, idiot proof, no flasher required. (Not a Derpy clone, something very different in every way)

Mull it over, an idea will pop into your head wink I think there has only been one or two semi successful ones ever made.
However I have had some excellent experiences testing a couple of prototypes, so I'm keen to push on and make it public, I won't release anything like that until it is as perfect as possible though.

Ape, I love your products and have too many of them, I use them all the time haha
I really think that is the best way to design things and this community is excellent at it smile

As for the cart shells, my proto's and current design is designed more like rumble cart size, purely due to the amount of components/traces I'm trying to cram. I'm going to try and smoosh it all into a standard cart size if I can, it's going to be a real challenge, but that's the fun of it wink

If I succeed in doing that, initially I'm going to be just modifying standard re-manufactured shells, but if there is enough interest in the cart I will be making my own shells for sure.

If I cannot fit it into a standard size cart then they will definitely be going into custom made shell about the size of a rumble cart.

Hey guys (and girls?) just a bit of an EOI for a project I've been working on over the past few months.
This started off as a personal project which I wasn't going to bother doing anything with, then I had a lot of interest from friends and it just grew from there.

As the title states, I am working on making a "sustainable" cart flasher, what I mean by that is a flasher which can be made (and continue to be made) in the future without having to worry about availability of components, specifically cart connectors.

As the price and difficulty to find consoles will increase in the future, I am trying to make something now to prevent people paying exorbitant prices for dead consoles just to scavenge a second hand connector from.

I have already purchased all necessary components and my boards are in production as we speak.

Wasn't sure if this would interest anyone, but just thought I would chuck this up and feel the waters.

I'm also working on a new flash cart to pair with this, something that you may have seen once before, but never produced it this fashion wink

So if your interested just drop me a line, I will post some pics up once I have the first batch done.

Thanks.

Peace, Love and all that shit.

PS: Oh forgot to mention, the whole thing is smt (surface mount technology) bar the led's and crystal, I'll leave the rest to your imagination wink

Do you have the same card as him too? Or you are having the same problem with a different card?

Yeah they were taken through a magnifying glass, as I was using my phone, couldn't be stuffed getting a proper camera out for these tongue

Can't tell if sarcastic or seriously asking tongue

Just a bit of a side note, gbaemu4ds can take a bit of setup to get it running right, I forgot this until I redownloaded it yesterday.

I guess you just have to choose what you really want out of the card, I know I said avoid dstwo's but if your really into GBA emulation it may be a easier option, not cheaper though.

If you buy the r4i and aren't happy, hit me up and I'll send you one of the test dstwo carts I've got kicking around if you cover postage smile

Oh well, seeing nobody answered, here's some pirate/unlicensed crap for you wink Sorry for the double post.

Exodus: Journey to the promise land (heaps of you have probably seen this before but oh well!)

I'm in no way religious, bought because it's an interesting unlicensed cart by the infamous Color Dreams Inc AKA Bunch Games or Wisdom Tree.

Note the unusual custom cart design and custom rom? Haven't been able to find any info on that chip at all.

A pretty standard GAME USA COLOR ADVANCE 32 in 1

Has Phillips screw, very obvious poor mold of original cart shell, has "NINTENDO GAMEBOY™, Made in JAPAN & Pat Pend" even though we all know that ain't true wink
COB, with three jumpers unsoldered, yet to try these, but will post results when I do. 6 Games which repeat from memory.

Has two numbers on the rear, "UC-32A01" stamped after manufacture (same as the number on the cart sticker) and "BC-TO8JM" on the PCB

Unsure of what the whitish crap is on the top of the PCB, I thought it was corrosion initially, but it appears to be some sort of paint, won't scratch/buff off.

Super 32 in 1 "Godzilla"

Has Gamebit screw, very well made shell, could easily pass as an original. Has "NINTENDO GAMEBOY™, Made in JAPAN & Pat Pend"

COB, with three jumpers, all were soldered. Bridging the top two makes the cart boot the menu as normal, desoldering makes the cart boot the first game only, bypassing the menu. The bottom jumper has had the trace cut, which you can faintly see in the picture, originally went to ground, attaching either pad to ground boots first game only.
Also has provision for a cap.

3 Games which repeat.

Sorry if this is just boring crap, just though someone might find it interesting.

I have many more, but I'll just leave this here for now.

Can i install gbaemu4ds on my current flash card?

Oh and thx for the link to r4i-sdhc.com im gonna try one of their cards. Oh and are you sure it will work? I think this is the last one my dad will buy me sad

Yes, although the card you have now runs on wood kernel, so all your roms must be in .agb, .bin or .mb format as wood kernel doesn't allow .gba's for whatever reason, unlike the r4i-sdhc.com wink

I can personally guarantee that you will have no trouble with the r4i-sdhc.com card if you buy it from the link I provided, I know Sylvester (one of the owners of modchip central) and have even been a business partner with him, he's a good guy and sells only top notch products.

If you have any trouble whatsoever I will be more than happy to help!

No, don't confuse all R4/R4i's to be the same, they are all massively different beasts.

An R4i-SDHC.com is an excellent card for the price and cannot be compared to a r4isdhc.com card.
I have sold hundreds of these, they play all commercial/retail games and all homebrew I've been able to find

And you can easily play all GBA/GBC/GB games using gbaemu4ds http://ichfly.github.io/gbaemu4DS/ which actually works better on the R4i-SDHC.com as it doesn't run wood kernel.

The only thing a super card will get you for its price is the ability to slow games, that is it.

The reason I say to avoid them is because they are

A. Pricey and offer no real benefit over other cards.
B. Take a long time to be updated.
C. They don't fit into the cart slot well due to the ASIC bulging out the top.

It's up to you of course, I can't force you to buy anything haha but I would highly recommend buying one of the two I posted, you won't be disappointed.  There is a reason all good card sellers stock them wink

EDIT: Just to be clear r4isdhc.com and r4i-sdhc.com cards are not made by the same people, they are completely different groups and factories smile

Do you think the dstwo is a good choice?  http://www.modchipcentral.com/store/sup … cable.html

Don't bother with a Supercard, they are very very old tech, very pricey and they only real advantages they offered were gb/gba emulation, realtime save and the ability to slow the game speed, real time save is on most cards and gb/gba emulation has been accomplished with emulators now anyway so unless your really in need of variable speed, don't bother.

I reccommend either a R4i-SDHC or TT3DS

I suggest doing the surface mounted components first, but glad to hear it arrived!

Yeah I can pretty much only do the resistors and caps (not the 4.7uf) tongue everything else will melt on the pre-heater.

Dammit now I'm gonna be all impatient for a few weeks waiting for this crap haha

I received something beautiful in the mail today :3

First day back at work and this little box from America made it completely worth coming in wink

Won't be able to assemble for a while though as my FT232's were only shipped a few days ago and I'm still waiting on the megas being shipped.
But oh well, I'll populate everything else in the mean time hah

Love the quality however! And also thanks to katsumbhong for the connector, saves me raping some innocent (game)boy.

Sorry for the double post, but yeah I AM EXCITE.

Google YUMI smile

Well not necessarily, it might be a legitimate r4isdhc which are not fake, but they are however a copy of another copy.

The dual core are pretty much the same other than having RTS features.

r4igold.com and r4igold.cn cards are ok, but still not the highest of quality.

I sell hundreds of Acekard 2i's and R4i-sdhc.com cards, the acekard I sell more of and they cost more, however I beleive that the r4i-sdhc.com cards are equally as good for a fraction of the price.

What country are you in? I'll try and find you a reputable local seller.

Both the cards I mentioned are usually under the $20 mark.

Not to offend but imho r4isdhc.com cards are generally speaking, piles of crap, copies of copies and the updates are sloooow.

One possibility to remember also is that you may have on your hands a copied copy of a copy, happens more than you might think and is the reason a lot of cards have anti-counterfit stickers & codes.

These cause all kinds of havok and most end users have no idea.

r4i-sdhc.com cards however are a completely different story, I would highly recommend getting one and throwing this $2.50 card in the bin or if on a super tight budget, even a TT3ds would out perform this card.

Just my 2 cents tongue
