You didn't see a pic? Then it is most likely not a long one. They are reasonably rare.

No this was a double length with button to change games, cost me about $40 AUD, there have been a couple pop up in different places here in Aus over the last few weeks.

I grabbed a 100 in 1 today off fleabay, don't know if it was the same one glitch.

I've got a bunch of unusual ones I'll take some pics of when I get back from holidays smile

semi-clear grey & semi-clear red gets my vote

Can I ask which way you sent it? USPS International packet or something?

Will be a few weeks I think haha

But well worth the wait!

EDIT: Only reason I ask is I will be going out of state in a few weeks so need to make sure it'll get picked up! smile

Anyone with a gb boy colour, does it color original game boy games like a real game boy color, especially custom palettes, specifically Metroid 2?

Yes it does and they look beautiful on the backlit LCD.

Can't speak for Metroid, but every other game I've played it has been 100% correct.

Yay special international box :3

Can't wait, love getting things to work on in the mail, my chips and stuff will arrive about the same time too methinks.

Does mine also get a Barbie/Fairy/Princess sticker? Pleeeeease Jazz? wink

So you have to cut off the mounting tab too? Not interested I guess. Sounds like that would compromise the strength of the connector.

As for my boards, I am still just programming one after the other and have finally finished the tutorial on my blog. Part 2 will be on the useage of the board, so everyone can benefit.

Funny story, I used it to dump a pirate cartridge I got from a friend over-seas. It is a 32-in-1 cart but when you dump the ROM it is only Barbie! The pirates played a trick on me! The game only works on actual hardware. lol

Yeah unfortunately, I have done so before though and the connectors are still rock solid as that tab hardly does anything, the main thing it stops is people ripping the connector clean off if they yank the cart directly up, there are also two holes which can be used as screw holes directly beneath the connector on some revisions, just have to use precise length screws. Other revisions use and little plastic through hole poles. But yeah it's a bit of a muck around.

And that pirate cart haha tongue

Woooah props on the find!

That seller also has the GB Boy Colours for the 20.99, the other seller put his prices up.

And there is no chance to trim the connector? I wasn't sure if the blocking mechanism was on the connector or on the DS shell.

I'm actually in the middle of designing a flasher using the DS connector, they do work, but they are smt and the blocking tabs are on the connector, you can trim them quite easily with a dremel or they even snap off cleanly if your careful enough.

The boot logo can be changed. It takes a bit of programming trickery, but it's possible. Doesn't nanoloop do this?

Indeed it can, some retro pirate carts did this (eg Sachen carts?)  and quite a few other people have done it before.

A quote from RivalCorp (AKA Kevan Killion) from this video showing the work he did surrounding custom logos.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtNZGbpxl8k

"Added some logic to display a custom boot logo on the Gameboy and still launch the game. When the Gameboy boots up it loads in the data from 0x104-0x133 in the ROM header. It then scrolls that image to the middle of the screen. It once again reads the data from 0x104-0x133 and compares it to the data stored internally in the Gameboy. If any of the data is different on the second time it reads it compared to the data stored internally it will fail to boot the game.

What I did was once the Gameboy starts it reroutes the data from Flash to a data stored on the FPGA containing the custom logo. Once it is done reading the data the first time it changes back the addressing to read from the Flash that contains the ROM. To sum it up shortly it Reads custom data then reads the real data the second time."

He did it using an FGPA but there have been others to do so without.

I AM EXCITE. PERHAPS TOO EXCITE.

Oh man Jazz, so much sex!

You sort of made me fall off my chair when I looked at the back of the board, cool touch!

Boards are looking great populated, will have to order some parts now.

Also +1 Z80 Dev

@Kitsch - Yeah I was meaning using IR beneath and Air above, your right in saying IR rework stations "can" be inconsistent, however the IR pre-heaters are right on the money smile

During the peak about 4 years ago I was using a ACHI IR-PRO-SC but didn't like it and sold it in favor for my current Air/IR setup.

Have a look at the Puhui T8280 if you want to look at a decent IR pre-heater with a huge user base, these are used buy a ton of people (myself included) for reflowing and reballing PS3 / 360 MB's (Eg BGA GPU & CPU work), great temps and last forever.
