I've desoldered and resoldered them before, but as has been said, not a job for you unless you are very handy with a soldering iron or have a rework station.

Kitch, tease much? wink haha

Do it man! It's really an enjoyable thing to do and you get to keep some awesome gear for yourself too smile
It takes some work and time, but i enjoy it for sure.

The refurb's are probably the most fun thing of all, in the past week I've sold a bunch of the GBA's, the coolest thing about it is, many parents were actually buying them for Christmas presents!

It's good that the older games will keep going through a younger generation and not just us old blokes, as there isn't any reason the kids now can't enjoy the same games thousands of others did years ago.

Edit.

Hey guys, gals and anyone in-between.

I run a small online store here in Australia.

I started the business approx 2001 but only started selling online in about the last 3 years.

www.consoleking.com.au is me, just me, nobody else.

I was selling a lot of mods/chips/accessories for current gen consoles, like flash carts, ODDE's, flashers. The general biz.

Then last year something happened (in my family) and I had to pretty well shut my site down, was a real bummer, not so much from the money side of things, more because of the fact that I really enjoyed doing it.

So anyway, at the start of this year my circumstances changed, and I was in the position to open it up again, so I have!
But this time, I'm sort of aiming to supply the perhaps harder to find or cool items that I always wanted to stock.

It's still in construction, and quite a few items are out of stock, but I'm working hard to re-stock everything as fast as I can and bring new products which people might find of interest at the same time.

Today I just got a cool shipment of Refurbed GBA's plus some other bits and the next shipment will be DMG's and GBC's in all different colours. (plus a bunch of other accessories, some of which are listed already)

I'm not normally much of a self promoter, but hey, why not.
At the least I can maybe help some aussies to get some items which are hard to find over here smile
At the worst you'll all tell me to fuck off, which is also fine haha

Anyway, enough from me. If your interested, have a look.

Thank you for your time.
I shall return to lurking in the Nintendo Handhelds section now and leave you all in peace.

Will he possibly be a US reseller or are you guys working on something else?

Both wink

Not directly working on anything together yet, but will be helping each other for sure haha

Edit.

I don't usually like to hold peoples money, but seeing as the first lot will be 20 and their is a fair amount of interest, I will open up pre-orders.

I'll post up the info tonight.

If interested please message me your postal address so I can get you a quote (I will quote them separately to get the cheapest I can)

Just a bit of an update, and sorry for double posting.

My first batch of connectors will be on their way tomorrow hopefully, so should be here next week.

Boards have been pushed back as there was a "misunderstanding" regarding the soldermask colour haha
But should hopefully be about two/three weeks to be manufactured and delivered.

So I dunno, get excited? Or don't, I'll be excited enough to make up for it. hah

Cart colours are grey for the moment or I can do them in those generic transparent blue cases, however they are colour cart shell copies tongue

I "might" be able to get some different cart shells made, but their costly when deviating from normal. I'll see what I can do.

Any retail roms will be made, no problem.

Anything else will be trial and error til I find what works / doesn't work with these carts.

Also just remember guys, I will be making my own private runs too, which will also go on sale, but will be

Just a heads up too, these carts will all come without a battery installed (if it has one it will be removed) for two reasons.

1. For the quantity of carts I'm shipping at a time, it would be too many lithium batteries in one package & all parcels from asia are being strictly screened for these and being returned i found to contain batteries.

2. For reshipping I can't ship that many lithium batteries either.

I might find a way around this, otherwise expect you'll have to put a battery in tongue

im glad this isn't april because I swear to god, this all sounds to good to be true.

hahaha! I'm not that cruel even if it was tongue

EDIT: Damnit, we can't do polls on here can we? Because that would be the easiest way for me to get an idea and keep track of what is wanted most.

EDIT2: Ahh it's ok, I can probably just make one through bbcode.

Sounds good to me Jazz and awesome work on the list. I'll be more than happy to do any translations people are after.

And to the best of my knowledge the hardware specs you put up are correct, but they may be able to do more.
It is hard to squeeze the info out of them. But essentially, they have said if I provide a rom, they will provide a cart to match so we'll just have to see I guess.

I have contacted a few manufacturers about GBA carts and I'm just waiting on pricing atm, pretty much the same deal though, I provide the rom and they make a cart to match.

I will guesstimate $1-$10 AUD is around what they'll cost, but that's just a rough guide.

Mother 3 English Translation (fobby) will be the first GBA cart I'll do.

If there is enough interest I can also look into having boxes made to match the games. This will be through another manufacturer again, but should be relatively cheap if people were interested.

I'll quite happily pay for a single cart, although I live in the UK. If tha'ts going to be problematic b/c you want to send them all to the US to make it easier, then I'll wait until the next batch of w/e music software is done.

No, that would be fine, shipping between Australia and the UK is actually quite good, fast and reasonable.

Between the US and Australia is a different story. Slow and pricey. (pricey by my standards anyway aha)

The thing that makes the roms I've mentioned perfect for this project is that none of them require (or even have) saving!  smile

Hmm! Very intermeresting then! I shall have to research into this! wink

Also excuse my poor knowledge! I'm newish to this part of the scene still, as I said before I'm not much of a Chipper, but I like to muck around big_smile

Multi-rom "noise cart" would be fantastic!  Deathray+Pounder+REZ+Shitwave+Brownian Noise+ ???

@rygD - what's this "phreak boy"? never heard of it! [found it, irrelevant nowadays but still cool as a sound toy!]

I'm in for a batch of 5 Pocket Music GBC.

We could each "sponsor" a run of 5 carts of a particular rom and then mix-and-match before shipping if DaRkO is willing to sort things like that?

Multicarts might be an option, but I haven't even broached the subject with my manufacturer yet, only problem with multicarts however is the saving.

Though I have had some before which can store multiple saves no problem, they are generally speaking a bit of a messy thing, but if I can get them made & functioning well I will!

Yep! Pocket Music will be going ahead it seems.

I'm cool with mixing up orders or whatever, just as long as each rom has a minimum 5.

Probably the easiest way is to have group buys for individual roms or put together rom packs.

Once we have enough people for each rom/rom pack they are made and sent.

I can mix them up and ship out whatever people want providing all the carts which have been made are paid for,
but as I said previously, I think really, I need someone trusted in the US who can reship (and wants some free loot!) so I can ship all US orders as one bulk package, otherwise I think shipping will be fairly expensive.

I will go and get some quotes in the coming weeks and figure out which is cheaper.

Like Jazz mentioned, a collection of the "other" music software would be really useful. I wouldn't mind having phreak boy and some other fun little things too.

Although these aren't fan translations or homebrew (and are game boy color), some people would be interested in them:

Anything you guys want I'm willing to try.

I'm sure Resident Evil would be fine as I have even seen some pirate carts of it already tongue

T-Tex though, I'm unsure, what a story however! I've never read the full backstory and only heard of the game in passing.
