So I'm working with Castle Pixel on an iOS game called Not Quite Red, a nice little RPG-ish game that gave me a chance to really lay into my SNES soundfonts and write almost exclusively in triplets. Six tracks on bandcamp, and now available on iOS!

Just hunker down and learn how to use trackers. It'll open up a world of possibilities.

The most commonly used system was the Sappy engine, which is basically like the SNES chip but software based. Midi files + a ton of instrument sounds.

You can definitely rip instrument files out of ROMs, but I'm almost positive you can't rip .tfm files of songs out of them.

I've got an eprom burner, although I've only used it for master system cartridges. But I could give it a shot if you get the chips to me.
